Sharon and Angela helped my girl go from an 8-week old baby to a certified service dog in under a year. The puppy training videos and 24/7 support were incredibly helpful in the beginning to establish house rules and teach basic skills, but more importantly to lay a foundation for a mutually beneficial relationship and connection between me and my dog. The program is set up perfectly to have 1x1 time with the trainer as well as multiple group classes to provide socialization with all kinds of dogs, many of whom are further along in the program and showcase good behavior that you are working towards. They provide you with all of the tools you need (tangible and intangible) and it is 100% worth it if you are willing to commit your own time and effort into practicing with your dog. Angela is patient but persistent; she gives the dog positive reinforcement and encouragement and creates an environment where they are eager to please and don’t want to give up- understanding that different dogs are motivated by different things. I recommend the program to anyone who wants to give their dog the best quality of life! Not only does the training make your life easier, but it strengthens your connection with your dog and builds their confidence and trust in you. DTE could not have been more supportive and influential throughout the process. Sharon was also very flexible with scheduling and was always available to answer any questions.

I’ve had such a great experience working with Dog Training Elite Charlotte! They’re patient, knowledgeable, and really take the time to understand my puppies’ personalities. I’ve seen such a positive change in Charlie & Ozzie — more focus, better leash manners, and less reactivity. Angela and Sharon have not only helped my puppies make huge progress, but also gave me the confidence and tools to manage situations calmly. Walks are so much more enjoyable now — I can’t recommend them enough!

My dog Huxley went through two other trainers before we found Shawn and his team and thankfully that’s the last trainer he’s ever needed. By the end of the first day, he was fully off leash trained and his obedience was better than the work with the past two trainers combined. Almost three years later, he maintains the level that he was trained at and I am always complimented on how well behaved he is. Since our training sessions, Huxley has gained confidence, has had no behavioral issues, and is my dream dog. He was also so loved by Shawn and his family that it made me feel so good to know I had a trainer that cared. I recommend Elite to everyone I meet and cannot stress enough how important proper training is for your pup!

Dog Training Elite is fantastic!!! If I could give 10 stars I would. I don't know how I could have done it without Sharon, Shawn, and Angela with training our first puppy- aged dog, Scout. They all are incredible in what they do and have been amazingly kind and patient with our adopted puppy (and with us as new puppy parents) lol. They really made things understandable, fun, and practical for how to navigate life with a new puppy and they were available to support us anytime along the way if any new questions popped up. I strongly encourage them if you are looking for training for therapy dogs, service dogs and in general. It is so special seeing how the dogs trained are helping families and their communities every day with the skills they learned through Elite. :)

We had an amazing experience from the beginning! And we are still actively in training. The team at Dog Training Elite is not only professional and knowledgeable, but also truly passionate about what they do. Their methods are effective, positive, and tailored specifically to your dog’s needs and personality. Our dogs have made remarkable progress in such a short time—something we honestly didn’t think was possible! The transformation has been pretty incredible: better behavior, improved obedience, and overall happier, more confident pups. Angela is an amazing trainer! Sharon is so supportive, communicative, and always available to answer questions or provide guidance. First class all the way! They didn't just train our dogs—they trained us to be better owners too. We can’t say enough good things about our experience with Shawn and Dog Training Elite! Our dog had been struggling with bad reactivity for quite some time, and after trying different approaches on our own, we were feeling discouraged. From the very first session, it was clear that Shawn not only had a deep understanding of dog behavior but also a genuine passion for helping both dogs and their people. What really stood out was how much time he spent teaching us so we fully understood the why behind the behavior and the tools to manage and improve it. Our dog has made HUGE improvements and we feel so much more equipped to handle situations that used to be overwhelming which has made a huge difference in our day-to-day life. I’m so grateful that we pursued training with Dog Training Elite, it was a great experience for us dog parents and for our 4 year old Pomeranian. Since completing the program we have so much more confidence and trust with our dog, who previously had issues with wanting to run out the door and bolting away (and not listening to come back), not listening in general to come inside from our yard, and overall anxiety/excitement. She is visibly more relaxed and understands that she doesn’t have to be on high alert all the time. It was the best investment we could have made for her and us, I would 100% recommend it to anyone that loves their dog and wants to see them thrive- it would be even better to start this process with a new puppy.

Training with Shawn and Angela has been a true life changer for us and our new family member Finnegan. We rescued Finn from North Mecklenburg Animal Rescue and wanted to give him the best life possible after being in a really horrible situation. Little did we know that golden doodles can be difficult to train. The training is a lot of work for everyone involved but let me tell you it is worth it!! The training is top notch and you will not be disappointed! They are so nice, professional and always available if needed between training sessions. We are now in the group phase of training and Finnegan is doing great! We now can take him places with us and he is loving it.

Shawn, Sharon, & Angela are the type of people and trainers that immediately put you at ease because you know they have your dogs best interests at heart. When we first met them in February of 2022, the Charlotte team hadn’t trained a mobility support service dog yet, but worked to put together a training package that fit my needs. Before DTE, Landon would barely sit and lay down on command, but now because of them, I have an incredibly well trained and solid mobility support service dog! The only thing Landon struggles with is being in the crate, however this has nothing to do with DTE’s training abilities, and everything to do with me not listening to the importance of crate training. They genuinely have you and your pups best interests and know what they are doing, so use their knowledge and skills -and don’t skip the crate training ;) DTE is like our family and has been since the start. I am forever grateful to and for them! It’s an honor to be a part of the DTE pack!! You won’t regret using them as your trainers!!

We used DTE for our dog Bowie and we can't say enough good things about our experience. Bowie is like a different dog (in a good way.) By implementing the DTE method as taught by Shawn, we have seen a dramatic improvement in Bowie's behavior and habits. Shawn was great helping me work with my rescue puppy Franny. She struggled with a lot of anxiety and we couldn't even walk around the block without her losing it. Franny was scared of just about everything and I didn't know how to help her. Shawn was very patient with Franny (and me) and we now enjoy nice long walks together. Franny gained a ton of confidence and now I have the tools to help her as she experiences new things. The group classes are always something we look forward to and if you have questions at other times DTE is just a text away. I highly recommend them.

All the staff at Elite have been more than fabulous. They worked with my other dogs prior to bringing in our golden doodle puppy to get the house in order. So far the training with our puppy is going great they have taught him so much in a short amount of time while still loving on him. We recently had some problems in house with him and the day I called both Sharon and Shawn came to the house and fixed so many little issues in just one house which made a huge difference. So glad to have them at the other end of the phone.

The BEST dog training place ever, hands down. Do not let the price scare you because trust this 23 year old who is telling you it is worth every penny. My sweet boy is the most well behaved, calm, confident pup ever. He is not afraid to climb up onto challenging surfaces, go down slides at the local playground, stay in “place” when other dogs are playing and distracting him, and does not dart when a door opens. I first connected with DTE a week prior to picking my 7 week old pup up. They have been there with me through it all every step of the way. From advising me on toys and treats, to helpful videos, I was beyond prepared to pick up my boy! Throughout our journey so far, they’ve been beyond helpful and patient to answer every question and concern of mine no matter the day/hour etc. Through Puppy foundations & obedience school, my pup Bruno is so ready to conquer the world and continue on with DTE in group classes to move forward soon with Public access and task training to officially become a certified Service dog!!

Shawn and Sharon are a dynamic duo...I can't recommend them highly enough. Extremely professional and so knowledgeable. Shawn is certainly a dog whisperer. Dog Training Elite was literally life changing starting from the very first session. On day 1, during the first session, Nova stopped ALL her destructive and annoying behaviors. Done. Gone. Ended. From the first session, she stopped jumping on my elderly mom (and us), stopped her aggression at every person/vehicle/dog passing by the front of our house…stopped being fiercely triggered by other dogs during our walks…no longer pulling on her leash…she literally was a different dog. Still the same beautiful personality, but with much better manners. We called DTE after Nova had an incident with our neighbor’s dog…and during the very first session, after one hour of working with Nova (and literally just ONE minute with the other dog), Shawn had both dogs calmly sitting next to each other, without any sign of aggression FROM EITHER DOG. My neighbor’s jaw dropped when she saw how quickly his methods worked (mine did too, quite frankly!). We’re now able to take Nova out with us and share her beautiful personality and energy, because in listening to us and trusting our leadership, she now understands that the world need not be such a scary place. More important, we’ve learned how to be her humans…and put her in the proper place in our family totem. We look forward to continuing her next phase of training through the group sessions and helping her continue to grow and bloom and socialize. Dog training elite is hands down the best thing we’ve done for ourselves and our dog. Our 60 lb Dutch shepherd mix was reacting whenever strangers came into the house. Now, we have the tools and understanding to manage this with no anxiety. We believe both the dog and the owners need to be trained to understand and work with one another which is exactly what we have accomplished with DTE. It is personalized , convenient, and you get to see exactly how your dog is being trained and how you can incorporate it into your everyday life. Sharon is so responsive with any questions and made scheduling seamless. Shawn formed his own relationship with our dog, it is clear he is passionate about providing the best guidance to help your dog and you. I’ve gone through a few dog training programs before, but none have compared. Shawn takes his time with every lesson, and I never felt rushed. Around August this year I had a incident where my 7 year old husky bit my roommate and nearly bit my mom over food.I knew something had to change as I didn’t want my dog to get re homed or put down.So my girlfriend and I decided we needed help. DTE was extremely helpful in understanding and was willing to help and give their honest opinions after a free evaluation.Once we decided to go with them Shawn and patient and helped us every step of the way.We learned how to essentially demote our dog and make understand he’s not in charge,we did this by only giving him affection/love when he worked for it by sitting ,staying ,etc.We also were told to not allow him on furniture like bed or sofa, all very small things that made a difference.Shawn also taught us how to use the e collar properly as well as a prong collar.Thanks to this I feel so much more comfortable with walking my dog and calling back if I need him to.Shawn also taught us signs of how a dog is feeling in order to prevent a fight from happening which I think is extremely important. We started around September and by November I’m able to grab food out of my dogs mouth with no trouble even my roomate who my dog would ignore and not listen to was able to give my dog commands and have him listen.Its important to note Shawn taught us the tools and techniques but ultimately it’s the dog owners that will have to put in the work so be prepared for that.Additionally there were times when my dog threw temper tantrums towards Shawn , although it was hard to watch Shawn remained calm and was able to still work with my dog. I highly recommend DTE if your having trouble with your dog it helped my dog a lot and I’m so proud of my dog now.Important thing Shawn will tell you that I think most people should know is that they are there to help your dog become the best version of himself not make into a golden retriever that super sweet all the time and meeting with Shawn is only 50% of the battle it’s on the owner to train and make sure the dog learns the things Shawn teaches.Overall highly recommended here is my dog Zeus with his official certificate!!!

Dog Training Elite Charlotte is undoubtedly a God-sent help with our puppy. We started noticing that our rather calm puppy was growing too fast and in part, developing bad habits he picked up at other day boarding places. We noticed rough playing behavior, jumping, barking to demand attention, counter surfing among other things. I started looking around for at-home training and DTE was the first contact I made. I submitted an online inquiry and Sharon called back within the hour. After feeling good about our conversation I called others to see what else was out there. Some didn't return my calls and/or voicemails, others had very much a one-size-fits-all approach so overall my wife and I decided to call back DTE and ask Sharon and her team to help us. Shawn was at our home the following week. We can talk all day long about our amazing experience with Dog Training Elite but here are the basic points that I hope drives home our overall experience: -Instantly calmer dog after 1st lesson -No more rough housing -Morning/afternoon walks are much better now -No more counter surfing -Peace around the house while doing daily chores -Calm puppy It's important to note that Shawn loves to educate on the behavioral aspect and psychology of why dogs are the way they are and act. This alone is very helpful because it helps dog owners understand and come up with solutions on how we can best help our dogs. We are still continuing to work with our puppy in all the areas that Shawn, Sharon and Angela have helped us during the 1-1 at home sessions and we understand this isn't a one time thing but rather a lifelong continuation of enforcing the basic rules that these pack animals abide by. This only *truly* works if you (dog owner) work at it continually for the sake of your dog if all else fails.

My experience with DTE Charlotte was absolutely exceptional! Shawn and Sharon went above and beyond in many ways. My dog was dealing with a lot of issues and Shawn came in and was so informative and helpful with all the questions we could ever think of, and we never felt he was rushing us through any of our (sometimes very difficult) training sessions. He is calm and steady- exactly what you need for dog training! Sharon was always quick to respond to any questions we had and was always so kind and understanding. My dog is so much better after having this training. Shawn understands dogs so deeply, and really helps you understand how a dog’s mind works and why they do what they do. My dog and I have learned so much through this experience, and have became so connected since. We use our training everywhere we go! The group classes are extremely helpful to keep up with the training, while having fun with other dog owners and spending quality time with your dog. People compliment me on my dogs behavior quite a lot and that’s all thanks to ‘Dog Training Elite Charlotte’!

Dog Training Elite Charlotte is the most FANTASTIC organization of its kind...!!! The whole family truly cared about our pup and gave their all to make sure they answered all our questions, were exceptionally kind and caring to our family and our loving dog, Charlie!!! Angela, our main trainer , has to be the best of all there is!!!! Sharon, who answered the phone was so kind ALWAYS and had our best interests at heart...Shawn came first and had to make sure our puppy had the best match and fit.....and he was RIGHT!!!! Both my husband, Pat and I feel Dog Training Elite is the best there is..I have had 26 dogs in my life and I have found that Elite is the BEST ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We adopted our dog, Finney, from the shelter in February. As a shelter dog, he came with challenges such as nipping, pulling when walking, and severe dog reactivity. We tried what seemed like everything to resolve the issue on our own, but after many failed attempts we called Dog Training Elite and signed up for their behavior modification training which included 7 one on one sessions coming to our home and then 20 group sessions. We saw HUGE improvements with our pup after just one session. By the end of our one on one sessions we no longer have a dog who nips, pulls or barks at other dogs. We have a calm dog who looks to us for direction on what to do when he feels anxious. We went from being scared taking Finney on walks for fear of how he would react to other dogs to being able to confidently take Finney on walks with our new skills learned. We cannot thank the dog training elite team enough for everything they have taught us and continue to help us with!

Our puppy Navy is around a year and 2 months and desperately needed some help, she would constantly pull on walks and bark at every person and dog that walked by. She would always jump on people when they came inside and that’s where I started looking for training and I found dog training elite! They have completely transformed my dog into a respectful sweet pup that listens to all the commands I give her! Before the training, my dog was barking at any sound, any movement in the house, never listened to commands. He was already pretty good with walking on the leash but would pull on occasion. Now that he’s completed his training, I almost don’t recognize him, in a good way of course. He is a completely different dog now, he obeys commands in the house and stops barking after the initial alert to someone at the door. I am beyond grateful for Shawn and Sharon for the training provided for me and my dog. I will always recommend them to anyone that has behavior issues. These guys are incredible! Our Bailey was well behaved except for jumping up and pulling on her leash. Shawn is the best! We adopted our dog at 7.5 weeks old and he was TERRIBLE! After a lot of research, we decided to go with DTE and chose the Gold Puppy Package. Amazing! Dog Training Elite Charlotte has been working with my Doberman since she was 8 weeks old. We picked up our sweet girl on Saturday and they were at my house on Monday helping. They are available 24/7 to help with any questions you may have. I could not imagine going through this without their help. My Doberman is going on 5 months and she is calm and listens very well. We inherited a high energy, free spirited Australian Shepherd, that one trainer had suggested they needed to be put down because the dog wasn’t trainable. The dog was very loving, but she went crazy around other dogs and other people and couldn’t be walked on a leash. We knew professional dog training was the only answer, So we searched the reviews online. We stopped at Dog training, elite. The reviews were almost unbelievable. They painted this picture of Shaun being some kind of mystical dog guru. So we hired Shawn to train Darcy. He is not a mystical dog guru. He is a highly competent, professional dog trainer that knows his subject and knows his dogs. Darcy completed the course. And now we have a calm dog that is enjoying not being anxious all the time, going for walks with her family, not freaking out when there are other dogs and other people around. She’s a joy to be with. We have nothing but high praise for Shawn and have already referred him to several Dog owners in our neighborhood. Could not recommend DTE enough. We adopted our 80lb dog (Rider) at around two years old and he was extremely reactive on leash. After one session with DTE we saw a complete 180. They gave us the tools, knowledge and confidence that we needed to correct this behavior and after 5 sessions our boy goes off leash on hikes and is no longer reactive on walks! After bringing home our newborn baby we realized we needed to start setting boundaries with our first (fur) baby. Within just the first one on one session we saw a huge improvement with our 1.5 year old sheepadoodle. After five sessions, we saw a complete difference. I contacted DTE for a consultation in November 2021 for my 6 month old puppy Luna. I consulted with 12 different trainers in the area and I picked DTE because I could tell Shawn was extremely knowledgeable. Luna did the 10 day boarding program. We decided this was the best program for her because she was stubborn, had destructive behaviors (destroying furniture), needed to be crate trained, and walking her was very hard because she would jump up and bite. After 10 days Luna came back transformed, it’s amazing what this kind of training can do. Shawn and Sharon took very good care of her, Sharon even gave her a bath and brushed out her knots. I received daily updates, texts, and videos. At the end of her training Shawn administered the Good Citizen AKC test and Luna passed.This training was worth every penny, Luna is now 2 years old and she is still doing great. Thank you DTE!

Her rampage through our lives continued unabated. I was ready to give her away to the first person who would take her. Then we called Dog Training Elite. Shawn came to the house for lesson #1. He had a calm, serious way about him. Winnie was outmatched and she knew it. Her capitulation was rapid and complete. Shawn demonstrated the e-collar by placing the prongs into the palm of his hand and turning the dial all the way up to show that it would cause no harm. Then he placed the collar on Winnie and in no time had Winnie sitting on command, and coming on command, and being a very good dog. Lessons 2 through 6 were with Angela. She showed us what to do and demonstrated that Winnie could learn commands very quickly. I nearly burst with pride when Winnie learned “place” and proved it by hopping on and riding a skateboard Angela had brought with her on our driveway. I ordered Winnie a skateboard of her own that very day. Today was our first group lesson with Winnie at the park. It was very organized and serious. Winnie was distracted by the other dogs and people, but with Shawn there helping we made it through some early drama. Now the dog I would have given away goes with me on a morning walk to start each day. She is still playful and full of joy, and now confident and poised, too. DTE Charlotte has been absolutely amazing with helping me train Lupin to be a service dog. Shawn walked through the whole process and the initial consultation was super thorough and explained every step of the process including how they make sure the dog's temperament fits for service work through the the initial obedience at home classes and group work. Each training session is super involved and Shawn and Angela showed me how to work with him and made each training session fun for him. They came with several tools to help him master the commands. The group classes were something I have never experienced with dog training but they were so helpful! We were able to practice our newly learned skills with people doing the same thing and have plenty of distractions to help build on the commands. Shawn and Sharon were always nearby to help if a dog struggled. Lupin even learned how to skateboard! They truly love dogs and helping people build a better bond with their puppers. 🐶

I can’t speak highly enough about my experience. My dog had nearly died twice, and as a result had severe anxiety. To the point where she would be reactive towards other dogs, and I was scared to take her places. DTE (a family business) has provided wonderful dog training lessons for us and our GSD! The competence, commitment, flexibility and professionalism employed by Sharon in Admin and Shawn, Owner and the Trainer Extraordinaire has been outstanding! I will keep my comments based on Shawn since he is with whom we have had the most contact and has trained our GSD from the very first home visit. We started training our GSD when he was 8 months old and Shawn had his first (of 5) home training visits. I think it is important to remember that when I say Shawn began training our GSD, he was also training us! It has been imperative to do the follow-up work on the weekly training concepts that Shawn provides us in order to have the GSD behavior we would like and that our GSD would like also! Shawn has been terrific - even visiting us (outside the lessons) to make sure that we were walking with him correctly and not letting him get away with his shenanigans. We have also been taking our GSD to DTE’s classes at the park (2 times now, with more to go) and it has helped tremendously - socializing and working with another 20 or so dogs - at one time! Who would have thought that? Anyway, we will continue to follow the process, we have a ways to go, but have come a long way! It is mighty fine knowing that we have Shawn and DTE right there, a phone call or text away to help us and/or GSD get back on track! It goes without saying, - we have absolutely no qualms and greatly recommend Shawn and DTE Charlotte!

Shawn was amazing teaching my future service dog the right obedience behaviors. I was a little worried as I had used a different trainer first since I got my dog at 5 months old and needed him to know the basics and lived in FL at the time. Shawn’s training was far superior and I will be moving forward with him to train my dog for the service dog part. He is patient, knowledgeable and always on time. Sharron is a pleasure to work with as well. Scheduling, communication and ensuring you are always satisfied and get the training times you need is something Sharron has mastered . This is a top notch outfit that I would recommend to anyone. You can rest assured your dog will be so much better behaved after his program.

We have an 8 month old Golden Doodle who is extremely frisky. When we would take him out for walks he would bark and lunge at other people and dogs. He weighs over 30 pounds and it was quite difficult to walk him. It got to the point that we would only walk him in the wee hours of the morning and late at night hoping not to encounter anyone. We had a positive only dog trainer who was very good at teaching the basic commands. But, when our dog got excited, treats would not work at all. We were referred to Dog Training Elite Charlotte and after speaking to Sharon and learning that they employed E Collars, we were very reluctant. As our dog's behavior got progressively worse, I decided to give them another call. Shaun came out to the house and explained the entire E Collar program. He also let us experience the collar on our hand as he pressed the button. We were completely surprised that it only felt like a tickle. Of course, the tickle can be dialed up if necessary. Our dog was very stubborn at first, so Shaun had to dial it up a bit. Afterward, we noticed that only a minimal amount was needed to get his attention. Now, he is a completely different dog on the leash. I feel that I have control. While I can't speak about all dogs, but this E Collar was a game changer. I told Angela our trainer, that I would never leave home without it. I have overcome my resistance to its use. My dog has completed 5 individual sessions already. He loves to see Angela coming because he knows he is going to learn something new. Our communications with him have improved dramatically and so has his follow through. We can hardly wait to start group dog training classes. This would have been impossible without the E Collar and the training sessions provided by Dog Training Elite Charlotte. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is struggling with an excitable, frisky and reactive dog.

Shawn, Sharon and Angela have been absolutely amazing! We participated in the Gold course which completely transformed our dog in the span of five weeks. For the longest time before the sessions, I thought that my dog just isn't the brightest (she's a pitbull with mostly AmStaffy), but I was OK with her goofiness and non-responsiveness, until she displayed some aggression toward smaller dogs Thats when I found Shawn and Sharon. Turns out, my pup is actually super smart, but she just chose to ignore what I want! Since she has been spoiled all her childhood and adult life (she's 3), we have had one of the most difficult session where my dog just don't want to work with Shawn (thinking she can still get away with bad behaviors), and I so much appreciate that Shawn did not give up - because he persisted through, my dog respects Shawn, and respects her owners, and completely changed her perspective on the training (i.e. more cooperative) After our sessions, she is now able to go wherever I point, sits (even w/o command), mastered leash manners (no pulling, stay within a foot distance), and definitely leaves other dogs alone when I tell her so. She pays so much attention to me now, I cannot even believe it!! She constantly comes to me to check on me, and we bonded on such a deep level through our practices that I never thought was possible. I spoke with Shawn/Sean looking to see about my husband's service dog and possible work needed he asked me a lot of questions. I asked for a consultation and he said he didn't feel it was needed and for us to advocate better for her. This really woke us up on expectations we have. He had the opportunity to take our money and instead he showed true honesty and looked out for our and our service dogs best interests. He took the time out of his day to help our family for no other reason than him caring about us and our service dog. This isn't someone just looking to line his pockets this is truly a man here who is dedicated to both people and pet. I will forever be grateful for this man and company. Dog Training Elite Charlotte is an absolutely fantastic organization! Shawn and Sharon are 100% professional, accommodating, friendly, and all around wonderful people. Shawn and Sharon, open their home to training dogs in a loving environment with their own family and dogs. They treat them as a part of their own family. I was unable to get Miso, my Shiba Inu puppy into their in home program as I had missed the enrollment date. However, I was lucky enough to get enrolled into their 5 in home training sessions with 12 group classes. So far Miso and I have completed the 5 in homes and I will be scheduling the group classes soon. We can't wait!!! :) I have nothing but amazing things to say and want to start off with a HUGE thank you!!!! Before the first training session, Sharon worked with me to get the process started, she explained how everything works then sent me a puppy manual and videos to get me familiar. She worked with me to meet what worked best with my schedule for Shawn to come out and start teaching Miso and myself proper training. Shawn was always on time, or if he couldn't be, he kept me informed as to exactly what was going on to keep him a few minutes late with a new accurate ETA which was never more than 5 minutes behind. But Shawn and Sharon are so considerate that they even reach out if there is a chance for being even a single minute late. As soon as Shawn came to my house, he answered my millions of questions calmly and patiently. After answering my questions he statred to go over the training itinerary that we would cover in the next coming weeks, then showed me how the e-collar worked and what it actually does. People have many negative views and a lot of misconceptions about this device and I was a bit hesitant about it at first due to the ignorance I had about it. Shawn explained it to me and showed me how it worked and then put it on my hand to show me what it actually did. After feeling it, I knew it was just a useful training tool and nothing like the nay sayers were gripping about. Then Shawn started with session one of Miso's first amount of training. It was impressive and amazing to watch as Shawn showed his expert level of experience and expertise in canine training. I was absolutely amazed at how he worked with Miso and how quickly Miso was able to pick up the tasks. Every week followed suite and I am really proud of Miso and myself as we are putting in the work and doing the training correctly which is quite rewarding and helps you build an even stronger bond with your chosen puppy family member. :) I have never owned a puppy in my life so I was completely in the dark about the correct way to go about training one. I also had very little knowledge about breeds and their specifics. Shawn has even given me knowledge on even my dog's breed and the traits that come along with it. I am interested in having Miso be a service dog for me, but Shawn has been 100% up front and honest with me about how rarely a Shiba becomes a service dog because their temperaments are not usually suited for it. So he has kept my expectation levels in check, though there is always a small possibility depending on each individual dog. After, these first weeks of training Shawn has told me there may in fact be a possibility that Miso may be willing to work with me and become my service dog. So fingers crossed. Hahaha I could go on and on and rave even more about all the great things but I'll leave it here with saying: I give DTEC, Shawn, and Sharon 1000 stars and absolutely reccomend them to anyone interested in training their dog and setting them up for success.

We found out about Dog Training Elite through a neighborhood friend. After initially attending training at a chain pet store, we realized we needed more for our overly energetic doodle. Waffles attended board and train with Dog Training Elite and came home a new girl. She still has her spunky personality but her behavior is much more manageable. We often receive compliments from visiting family and friends on how well she behaves. Additionally, Waffles loves to go visit for occasional boarding and we feel lucky to have such a safe place for her to receive quality care and continued practice.
