Our Balanced Theory

We base our training around the "Classical Conditioning" model (a.k.a. "Pavlovian" or "respondent conditioning"). This includes developing conditioned or automatic reflexes to commands. In its simplest form (after proper conditioning), when the owner says "sit," the dog automatically sits without thinking about it. Our unique techniques ensure our program is a success no matter what behavior we encounter.

  • Empowering Owners
We empower owners to train so their dog knows who to obey at all times.
  • Personalized
We deal with problem behaviors on a personal basis.
  • Environment Specific
We train wherever issues tend to arise (i.e. jogging, park, home).
  • Supportive
We support owners in the off-hours (when training is "not in session").
  • Involved
We work with all members of the household.
  • Simplified & Customized
We plan training around the owner's schedule and require only 15 min/day follow-up practice.
  • Continued Training
Additional programs / group sessions offered after in-home training.
  • Lifetime Investment
We follow up & are invested in the owner's success long-term.
  • Satisfaction Ratings
Our high client satisfaction rating sets us apart from competitors.

I had a previous trainer that didn't seam to know how to train dogs. So when I found Whitney and explained my past experience. She reassured me that it wouldn't happen this time. I love the consistency, well explained rules, flexibility, and most importantly the continued support even when you dog completes the program. If I could give you more than 5 stars I would.

Dave was our dog trainer for 5 private lessons. He started out asking us what issues we wanted to begin working on. I listed several thinking we would not be able to resolve any of them in five lessons. To my surprise, we have a very well behaved dog now, thanks to Dave.He was our private dog whisperer and an excellent one at that. Our 11-month-old Rhodesian Razorback now sits, catches and releases, doesn’t jump up on people, stays in place, and greets us with hot coffee every morning – ha ha !! Training a dog takes lots of consistent and repetitive work. We spend at least one hour daily “in school” with our pet.I can’t recommend Dog Training elite enough. Thank you Dave

Whitley with Dog Training Elite San Antonio has been simply amazing! We have a very strong willed, confident and hyper Cane Corso. At only 5 months old, Whitley has helped us teach our big boy so much. A 5 month old pup sitting on the 50 yard line of a football field while I walk away all the way to the side walk by my car all the while he is watching me while football players are getting ready to start practicing...and not moving until I break him! AMAZING! I simply can’t say enough about Whitley, except that she has been GREAT! Thank you so much and looking forward to continue working with you in the future!

My dog Schatzi had initial training as a puppy and she would listen maybe sometimes. We engaged DTE San Antonio for their complete program and are more than happy with the results. The program involves you and the dog working the commands together. David, our trainer, would demonstrate something new every week and I worked with your Schatzi in the interim to reinforce that training. I cannot say enough good things about David and DTE. He took a good dog and made her great. We continue to receive compliments on how well behaved she is with crowds and other dogs. Many thanks to David and DTE!

Great service. Fast training. Amazing how fast my puppy responded and learned the commands. With elderly parents in the home it was critical that my new puppy behaved and responded to commands. Highly recommend!

I contacted this group because my German shepherd was impossible. I had decided to rehome her. But with the help of my wonderful trainer, the dog was transformed! She comes when called, heels, waits at doorways, and many other things. Wonderful! And the dog is happier and enjoys working with me.

Dog Training Elite is a great business whom are very professional, reliable, and friendly. They’ve done an awesome job training our German Shepard to be a service dog. Myself and my GSD love attending the group classes with other dogs. Would recommend to anyone from basic training to more advanced training.

We decided to put our dog through their service training program and it’s the best decision we’ve ever made and I wish we would have done it sooner. They are super hands on and not only train your dog, they teach YOU how too. Which is something I realize a lot of people need. They have given us the tools to succeed and taught us how to communicate with our dog and how to be proactive dog parents. Us and our dog live much happier lives now that he is trained. They offer 1 on 1 training and weekly group classes which is our favorite because you get to hang around other dog parents and other dogs too! I always loved my dog more than anything and thought I could never love him more, but now with training and him learning, he is so much more involved in our lives and we are so thankful. If we ever get another dog we will 100% put them into dog training elites program right away. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!!!

I went to Dog Training Elite at the end of my rope with my German Shepherd who's highly reactive to new dogs and strangers. After working with her in their training program, she can now walk alongside new dogs without reacting to them at all. Whenever we went on walks and encountered another dog, I used to have to stop and make her wait on the side of the sidewalk until they passed because she got too excited and wanted to lunge at them. Now, we can walk calmly past them with no issues. As for strangers, she still barks at first when a new person comes to the house, but she listens to me and quiets down when I tell her it's okay rather than barking uncontrollably like before. She's still very much my playful, lovable girl, but thanks to Dog Training Elite, she doesn't overreact to new dogs and strangers anymore! Their training is a bit pricey, but worth every penny!

So thankful that I found Dave and Whitley. My previous trainer seemed to not know how to train my pup or get his attention which was frustrating. I sought to find a trainer that could not only train him but be understanding of his hip dysplasia since he is still young (8 months old). Whitley has experience with young dogs with hip dysplasia which is why I ultimately chose her training program. Whitley and Dave had him for only TWO days at their boot camp and he had already learned and behaved so much more than he had in THREE MONTHS with the other trainer. They told me that Tucker is very intelligent and learned quickly which meant a lot to me, considering the other trainer had made me feel the complete opposite. I was hesitant about the e-collar at first but tried it on my hand and on my neck at the levels they had it on for him and I didn’t feel a thing! Not only that, Tucker loved Dave so much that when Dave went back into his car (after dropping him off), Tucker wanted to go with him! They are so professional, very thorough and I cannot sing their praises enough. Thank you Dave and Whitley!

Dog Training Elite San Antonio, Whitley and her team, are fabulous!!!! We needed a service dog for my daughter. I knew nothing about how to go about that. I contacted Dog Training Elite and they walked me through their process and gave us recommendations for breed and age. We went with their breeder recommendation and found the perfect animal. We went through the entire PTSD training program and now have an amazing, certified, service dog for my daughter. We had many sessions together and each time our dog was better and better. Whitley and her assistants were always on time and provided such great instruction and comfort for my daughter and her animal. They have been amazing and I highly, highly, recommend them.

The BEST dog training EVER!!! I tried other dog trainers, before I tried Whitley and Dave and none of the other trainers worked. In fact, my dog’s behavior was getting worst. Within the first week of working with Whitley and Dave, I could see improvements! It’s now been seven months, and my dog is now my Service dog! Rex is fully trained and I can take him everywhere knowing that he will behave correctly and help me with my disability. I highly recommend Whitley and Dave to anyone who wants good and proper dog training. I plan on using them for all of my dog training needs. Thank you, Dog Training Elite!!!!

I can't say enough about Whitley and her team (with a special shout out to Dave) and how they've helped train our service dog. They were professional, always on time, and knew exactly what areas to focus on with Max. Even more importantly they trained us as well in both the law and processes for having a service dog in public places. Training a service dog takes time, and can be expensive. However, I found DTE's prices to be more than reasonable for the excellent, personal, training services we received from them. If you are looking to train a service dog, or just to train your dog to be the best they can be, I would highly recommend Dog Training Elite Texas.
