When we lost Luca, we weren’t sure what we would do. He was not only my service dog, but my partner and heart. I honestly didn’t know how I could move forward without him. At the time, our sweet Yara didn’t qualify as a service dog due to her past trauma, prior to us adopting her, and it felt like such an uncertain road ahead. Then life surprised us — Yara had a litter of seven beautiful, healthy standard poodle pups. We decided to keep two of the boys, and they have just completed their service dog training camp. They’re well on their way to following in Luca’s pawprints, and watching their progress has filled our hearts with so much hope. Yara herself has blossomed in ways I never imagined. From obedience training to slowly building her confidence, she’s now qualified as a service dog too. She’s done a complete 180, and it brings me to tears thinking of how far she’s come. “Your dog is untrainable,” they said. “Your dog is a lost cause,” they said. Two and a half years ago, I was told this by a puppy training school where my German Shepherd, Shade, had been enrolled for a two-week course. I got Shade when he was ten weeks old, and he was an anxious pup from day one. I figured he’d grow out of it as he got older, but at six months old, a trip to the beach raised serious concerns. He didn’t tolerate strangers at all and made it abundantly clear to everyone—including those in neighboring zip codes. Even at six months, getting yelled at by a set of teeth attached to a life-support system was terrifying for the innocent. When I received the “lost cause” verdict, I was seriously bummed—sad, even. I also have two golden retrievers and love taking my fur faces with me whenever possible. Obviously, having an aggressive (now 110-pound) German Shepherd around strangers was out of the question, so I resigned myself to keeping Shade isolated—a bad day for both of us. Fast forward to a few months ago. On a whim, I asked AI whether there was any hope for a “lost cause” like mine. AI responded: Absolutely. There’s almost no such thing as a “lost cause” dog—only those that might need a different approach, more patience, and dedication. That sparked hope! I asked AI to recommend good trainers in my area, preferably experienced with anxious Shepherds. Dog Training Elite was the top suggestion, so I called for a second opinion. Whitley from Dog Training Elite visited within a few days to meet Shade, who, of course, greeted her by yelling and showing off his pointy pearly whites. Whitley echoed AI’s sentiment: He needs work, but he’ll be just fine. I committed to their program on the spot. The trainer assigned to me, Evey, came to my home every Friday for eight weeks to train Shade—or so I thought. I quickly realized Evey was training me. To be fair, I needed it more than Shade did. The sessions covered new commands, how to elicit desired behavior, what to do and avoid, body language, and more. It was an awesome learning experience. Each week, we received homework to practice for 20-30 minutes daily, and I was impressed by how quickly Shade progressed. The before-and-after, even within the first week, still seems unbelievable. Turns out my “best boi” is also a “smart boi.” I was thrilled to see Shade steadily tolerate Evey (no more toothy yelling) and, more importantly, start taking cues from me instead of taking matters into his own paws. This helped me realize my nervousness about him around strangers was being picked up by him and expressed as aggression. The more confident I became, the more he deferred his emotional responses to me. Evey helped break negative feedback loops and build positive ones—a good time to mention that Evey is an absolute rock star. Our final lesson was a milestone: an outing to Home Depot. I was a bit apprehensive leading up to it but confident on the day that Shade would ace his graduation. Spoiler alert: He did. He never once yelled or looked like he wanted to ventilate anyone. That Sunday, Shade and I celebrated with a burger at a local dog-friendly restaurant. He was interested and attentive to the goings-on but impeccably well-behaved. My boy! We were hesitant on having our collie trained using Elite's methods. I must admit that after one week our Remi was jumping in and out of our SUV, sitting, laying down, and wallking next to us on our left side. Elite did a fantastic job which has made our lives much easier. We are thankful to have put our trust in Elite Training.

I recently adopted my first forever puppy and knew right away that I wanted to get him professionally trained. After some searching, I found this school and scheduled a visit. The moment I walked in and met Tammy, I was immediately impressed. There were about 7 or 8 dogs practicing the “place” command—and they were like statues! Not a single one reacted as we entered. We were able to start training that following Monday. At first, Nibbler was a bit hesitant, but by the third day, he was practically leaping into the trainers’ arms. He learned so much in such a short time, and I couldn’t be prouder of him. I’m so excited for our future training sessions!

Max just graduated from his in home training with Dog Training Elite and I can’t say enough great things about the process! We adopted him from a rescue about 6 months ago and he was extremely anxious and a little unruly. Adakais has been amazing. Max is now much more confident and knows all of his commands . The ability to learn the training techniques from Adakais each week and then work on them one on one with Max has been such a rewarding experience. We look forward to continuing to work with DTE by attending the group classes.

There are so many great things about Dog Training Elite. I’ll start with their level of professionalism. From the first introduction Tammy explained their training opportunities and payment options. Whitley used her own dog to show me some things the team would be able to teach my dog to support my Post Traumatic Stress and anxiety. The team is always kind and they listen to my needs as a handler. My standard poodle, Brody, completed puppy camp and is currently in big dog camp for service. After puppy camp there were follow up classes in our home at which time we got some much needed refresher training. Terrence and Adakais arrived promptly and were very knowledgeable. Alli is his classroom trainer (for puppy camp and big dog camp) and she is amazing. She answers my questions and supports me as a handler with any areas that I need additional assistance. She is always watching me with Brody when I’m there and I love that she corrects me when she sees me do something wrong. It keeps me on point and I am always learning from her. Brody learned some great things in his first week of big dog camp. He even got a compliment from one of my co-workers who noticed his behavior had improved since he saw him a week ago. The end of day report cards are wonderful. It gives me something to reference if I am unsure about something Brody was taught throughout his training. One of the things I appreciate most is the quick response I get from any messages I send them. You cannot go wrong with Dog Training Elite. They are a professional group of people who want to see you and your dog be successful. I am looking forward to a lifelong relationship with this staff.

Most amazing experience I have ever had. I was very nervous about bringing my tiny 1.5 lb baby to be trained. I had a sit down with Tammy and she went through the process with me. Had me bring my baby with me and she gave me a tour. From day one it was amazing. Poppy started puppy camp the next Monday and they worked with me on my work schedule. I was more nervous than my puppy. After the first day my little dog was so happy to go. Every time I drove up she knew. She got so excited she would rush through the doors and run right to the trainers. She has her favorites of course. But, she was just so happy to be there. Not only was she learning and playing. But everyday they made video of what she was learning and I would take the video and practice at home what she was learning there. If I had questions I could ask Ally her trainer anything and she was amazing to answer all my questions. When Puppy camp ended we moved on to more advanced training. We had to wait for a little bit for her little puppy brain to grow. During that time the trainers came to us. We had Kai and he was absolutely the best. Full of knowledge and very patient and professional like Ally. Poppy just loved him. Working with him outside of the training facility was easy and very rewarding for both myself and Poppy. He even help us with boundaries within the house. When it was time to start the more Advanced training. We had Ally again. Poppy learned so much. She became more confident and so did I. If I stumbled with anything, Ally guided me back on track and always let me know that I can ask for help at anytime. She never made me feel rushed through any of it. Then of course there are the videos they use to help you through the training of your dog. I know this review is long. I did see some of the other reviews posted that were negative and if you know these people and how they love their dogs and yours. You would understand that what was said was taken out of context. One of the service dog training methods is for your dog to be in place. Poppy knowing this skill means I can handle my medical needs and know she is out of harms way and or not getting her self into trouble. So when you walk into the facility you might see a dog on a bed off the ground against the wall sitting. They are not stuck in a cage. They are out in the open. But they are in what is called place. It is a very important skill. I am very blessed Poppy was taught this. It has come in handy in so many situations. Not only at home. But also out at a hospital where she needs to be safe out of the way. If you’re looking for a place that loves your dog, that will be there to answer your questions, to guide you and your dog through the journey you choose. This is the place. These are the people. I trust my little Poppy 110% with all of them.

My experience with Dog Training Elite (DTE) has been nothing short of amazing with great professionalism and high standards! My experience started with me going in to get information about their training for a service dog that I was thinking about getting. I spoke with Whitley, and she gave me a consultation based on my needs and goals that I wanted for my puppy. Whitley went into detail about each camp my puppy would attend while giving me a tour of the facility. Once the consultation was completed, she answered all my questions, provided me with the information to keep, and showed me a demo of the end results of their training program with one of the trainers, Adakias, with his dog Ghost. I was impressed and excited to move forward when the time was right. Once everything was set on the breeder’s end, I started setting up everything on the training side where Tammy was a great help! Tammy has always been quick when it came sending out the contract, answering any questions I had pertaining to the contract, to scheduling camp dates, follow ups, and small tips when I went in to drop off Cairo for “school”. When Cairo’s training started, I primary worked with Alli who’s an amazing trainer! Alli’s love for dogs shows well in her training and interactions with each dog. From the moment Cairo started the puppy foundational camp up until now, whenever I had questions, or needed insight into how to correct something, Alli has been there to share her knowledge. I love that no matter where you are at in your dog knowledge, Alli will always build you up! The “report cards” after each training session is very detailed in helping you with your “homework”. I enjoyed that you could save them and review later if you need to tighten up on something or simply remember the command. Overall, I’m glad that Dog Training Elite was my choice to train my dog! Cairo loves coming here and it’s no question, I know Cairo is in great hands when he’s here!! The free group classes that are included when you become a client is a wonderful value itself. Ruckus had a range of obedience issues (Australian shepard, 1yr), but after DTE, it’s like he’s a completely different dog. My trainer Terrence was amazing in not only training him, but me as his owner. I 1000% recommend anyone who is having dog training issues and is ready to leave disobedience in the past to work with these amazing trainers. You will have a brand new dog!

I love the trainers and how they are helping my little Poppy learn all she needs to know on her journey to become a service dog. She is tiny and they treat her like she is normal dog with a big heart . They do not baby her and treat her like she can do everything a regular size dog can do. She can be a bit spicy but she listens to them and is also so happy to see them. Her little nub tail goes a mile a minute as soon as we pull up. She knows she is going to see the amazing staff and trainers. Her first week she learned a lot and it was up to me to keep it up. They found treats she likes. * She was super picky* She was a bit shy at first and they got her out of her shell. Now she is not afraid of anything. They still come to the house for additional training and we can go every Tuesday for refresher training until she is old enough to start service dog training. I know, I was so nervous at first before Poppy joined this program. After meeting with them and visiting the facility I was very happy. The facility is very clean. The trainers, staff have been absolutely wonderful and take time to answer my questions. If I don’t feel confident in what I am doing they do not hesitate to guide me. When Poppy joined she was only 1.5 lbs and they made sure she was safe while she started puppy basics. Yet she still played with the big puppy’s and did everything all the other puppy’s got to do. She is 3lbs now and I have no concerns in leaving my little treasure with anyone at Dog Training Elite for her continue education onto Service dog training. If you’re looking for Basic training to advance to anything in between. I highly recommend this wonderful facility. They truly care about their clients and the work they do. My little Poppy loves going to see them every time. They also educate me on what I am doing wrong and guide me in the correct way to handle poor behavior in my Poppy. Come join this place! Where do I even begin? DTE took a 4 month old Doberman puppy and turned him into the most amazing service dog in a period of 3 months time. This boy was wild! He learned discipline, self control and all the things necessary to pass the test. This was all done with a perfect balance of building amazing confidence while maintaining his wonderful disposition. Leo truly loved his trainers and we could tell that they absolutely loved him as well. I recommend them 100 times over.

The basic puppy training and service dog training options are amazing. The staff is so nice and very informative. Chewbacca has learned so much and is always happy to come to class. We’ve done the puppy class and now on week 2 of service dog training! The trainers are so helpful and educational when it comes to showing what Chewbacca has learned and answering all of our questions! You get daily updates of what was taught to include videos and written information. Plus, cute photos of your pup! I highly recommend DTE!

We recused bolt in late Dec 23. He was about to be put down because there was no room at the shelter. Initially, he would take off running had no recall, and was constantly acting up. That’s when we reached out to Dog Training Elite. We met with Whitley and she immediately promised us we can get him trained. Throughout his training Adakais(his trainer) was patient and gave us numerous lessons that we were able to apply. It was life changing for us. Bolt went from being a dog that would lose his mind if you even put a leash on him to becoming fully service dog qualified by summer of 2024. He knows all the commands and really responds well to having a job as a service dog. There a lots of group classes and everyone attending is supportive. Plus you have the one on one with the trainer. This is a great team and you’re really part of a supportive community. That’s bolt at my retirement ceremony being a great service dog. The other photo was after training at the facility. He was relaxed even with other dogs around.

I am so thankful to DTE for being patient with me and my pup during the training process. The group classes are a plus as they allow me and my dog to work in various environments with distractions. I have received constant feedback from them as well which has helped me build my confidence as a dog owner!

Gunner is very well behaved now, and I have a better understanding of how to upkeep his training at home because they give you the tools you need to be able to work with your dog at home. The staff is professional, helpful, and patient. I am pleased with my dogs’s progress… She’s a Llasa Apso so that says a lot when it comes to training. You’ll see a difference day one after training … one week later is amazing and then group training just adds to the benefit of having your dog trained. Highly recommend.

During covid i was able to get my dog trained as a PSD and the experience was so great that when my guy retired i went back to get his replacement trained. They are pleasant & patient in teaching & having owners demonstrate understanding & use of learned commands with their pet. Enrolling my pup in DTE training has been a game changer! After just 1 week, he no longer pulled when walking. After 2, we no longer got asked to leave public places due to his barking. The trainers at Dog Training Elite are absolutely fabulous! They are training my dog, a Serbian Rottweiler, currently, eight months, old, to be my Service Dog. They have done a fantastic job up to this point! In addition to training at their facility, they have training at my home and in public areas. They explain the training thoroughly as they are not just training the dog, they are training me. I couldn’t be more pleased, and I strongly recommend them as trainers for. I sent my 2-year-old female Golden Retriever, who has separation anxiety, to be trained by Dog Training Elite to become my service dog. Day 1 of obedience training I noticed a huge difference in her anxiety levels as well as her basic obedience! Could not recommend enough!!

Excellent training, done with kindness and repetition! My dog enjoyed the training as I did, highly recommended. This training was for my French Bulldog, of which I have had no experience in a companion dog, so I really needed this training in order to have the best relationship possible with this little cutie! I have previously had a highly intelligent guardian/protection dog and had full control using body language cues and commands, different dog mindset and breeding.

We have been working with the training team for 10 months. They have been training our service dog Ruger since he was 9 weeks old. He attended puppy camp with Geneva and he learned so fast. "Reign" is my 3rd pure bred AKC German Shepherd and I "knew" how to train puppies....or at least I thought I knew. This time it didn't work. The instructors at Dog Training Elite are not only knowledgeable and experienced but also kind, patient and fun. Our dog was driving our family crazy and we feel fortunate to have found DTE. Louie went from being a rebel to becoming a service dog in just 3 weeks. What an amazing transformation! He is a totally different dog, although mischievous at times, he now listens and follows commands. We continue training and working with DTE so that Louie can continue to improve. Thanks to all the instructors who have worked and helped train Louie :)

I highly recommend Dog Training Elite in San Antonio. We hired them for help socializing our rescue pooch and it was a fantastic experience for Bean and my son and me. We learned how to be better owners and handlers and Bean learned to be such a gentleman! We’ve taken him to zoos, beaches, restaurant patios, etc. and he follows commands. Our outings are so much more fun for all of us involved. This is us at the Sea Turtle rescue in South Padre Island. It was packed with people and other dogs.

Excellent dog training company. They’ve helped us work to improve Belle’s behavior and all of her issues. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and very accommodating. We have been working with Geneva for the most part, she is a wealth of information and has lots of experience. There is no issue thus far that she couldn’t help us resolve. Nonetheless, their entire staff is very professional and friendly. We are very happy with their service.

We have an energetic, two-year old, Dalmatian that loves pulling on the leash. Leash pulling was so crazy we wouldn’t walk him anymore because of how stressful it was. We took him to DTE and within the first 30 sec of the trainer handling him, we knew we’d made the right decision in bringing him. We took him to DTE for their one-week good camp. After we brought him back home, we still had some issues walking him outside, as he had been training mainly inside and outside he just completely ignores you. After our first follow up session at home, the trainer showed us how to deal with this outside the home and voila! We got a new dog within seconds. No more leash pulling when we go out for a walk, and now we all get to enjoy nice, peaceful walks around our neighborhood. It was completely worth the money, and i would 100% recommend DTE as a training facility.

We have been so happy with our experience with Dog Training Elite San Antonio. We showed up with a 4 month old German Shepherd puppy and with in the course of six months we had a well behaved diabetic alert dog. They helped us survive the puppy phase and help set the foundations for our dog to succeed. They provide support with home visits, group classes and service dog outings. They also helped our existing dog transition into having a new puppy in the home. Which we didn’t think was possible! We are also grateful for the community DTE provides.

My Boykin spaniel is a smart but stubborn pup. Before training he could accomplish most of the basic in a controlled setting but failed with distractions. He has been doing training now for 3 months and his public outing are now like I have a whole new dog. He is still a work in progress especially when meeting up with other dogs but the group classes are helping immensely with that. We just accomplished walking through hobby lobby for over an hr without any issues. Something I would have never thought possible with his nose/smell drive.

Took my dog for service dog training (Platinum package). She had already completed a board and train, and was very trainable. DTE took that to the next level in what feels like absolutely no time at all. It's worth noting that the training really is what you make of it. Go to the group trainings. Listen to the trainers. Hold your dog accountable. Do your homework and continue the training at home. If you do all those things, you won't be disappointed with the results.

My puppy started their service dog training at 3 months old, and I was so impressed with how much he learned in just one week. We didn’t think it’d be possible because of how young he was, but the training facility really puts so much effort into instilling good behaviors. They have made it so easy for me to really keep it up on my end. One thing my husband and I really wanted was to invest in our dog with a good trainer, and highly recommend Dog Training Elite. I was convinced on a video I saw where treats were thrown everywhere and the dogs simply ignored them. I am so proud to say that my dog Chef now ignores treats offered by straingers and food on floor when we go out for walks. Love that the training facility is always so clean. Employees are super friendly and knowledgeable. Amazed and proud on how my dogs Chef has learned so much, so fast, and now responds more positive on commands given. I personally learned alot, and feel more confident going out and having Chef help me with my Panic Disorder. I highly recommend Dog Training Elite, they are incredible!

I saw such a huge change in my Dobie's behavior and in myself as a handler. The trainers were incredibly helpful and happy to see her grow with me. She's still a pup, but I'm so proud of her and excited to get her working on tasks as she gets older because of the care and training results I've seen from the team so far. A lot has been going on for me and they've really helped me with the puppy stages TREMENDOUSLY and have set us up with a great foundation. Very professional, hands on, flexible, helpful organization and I would 100% go with them every time.

My rescue pittie mix attended the 2 week obedience training. He's approximately 4 years old and has a mind of his own. Geneva was great with him. Now he listens better and responds appropriately. He will start weekend group training soon to expound on his skills.

Top notch training program by real professionals! Our Newfie Yogi was as crazy as they come, even made us wonder if he would even be cut out to be a service dog for our son with Autism. After the 3 week Training Program, this dog has totally taken our breath away. In such a short time, they molded him into a perfectly well behaved machine. I am beyond excited to continue working with DTE-SA for Yogi’s specific task training and enroll our Cane Corso into one of their programs for some fine tuning.
