After searching for a dog trainer I came upon Dog Training Elite. Danielle returned my call promptly, answered all my questions, was incredibly patient and easy to talk to. I have a toy poodle named Blu that tends to react to people and other dogs. We attended our first group class and Blu did amazing. Highly recommend Dog Training Elite RI! Danielle has been fantastic to work with, and our dogs absolutely love her. Our puppy has transformed with this structured training and benefits so much from the group classes. Before starting training he was so reactive to other dogs and would pull to try and go meet them, and now he’s much more balanced and understands how to behave neutrally around other dogs. I never imagined he could sit quietly just a few feet from a whole group of other dogs in class while we all practiced training exercises. If you listen to Danielle’s instructions, and stay consistent with training and coming to class, then you will see results in no time.

Harper( my one year old Lab) and I are having the best experience! She has a tendency to be over excited about people and dogs. Danielle has helped us be better citizens. We hired Danielle to help us train our 1 y/o GSD, specifically with her fear reactivity towards other dogs. Danielle was very nice and professional right off the bat and quickly called me to set up an appointment once I had inquired. She came to our house and evaluated Olive and we started training a week later. Since Olive was already pretty familiar with obedience, we mainly focused on her staying calm in situations where other dogs may be present. Today we had our first group class with 16 other dogs and their owners. I was nervous to say the least but Olive did great and her reactivity was kept at a minimum! This is only the beginning, as Olive still has a long way to go but we are impressed with her progress thus far and we are excited for the classes to come. We would definitely recommend Danielle to others!

Like so many others we have had an incredible life changing experience with Danielle. We moved from TN where we lived in a rural area into the city of Providence where there are a ton of dogs and Bean would lunge and bark at everyone and everything that moved. I was so anxious every time I had to take her out. Within two lessons I started feeling more confident in her and she started feeling more confident in herself. Danielle was so reassuring that she would get where she needed to be and even though an ecollar was a part of training she really emphasized praise which Bean really responds to. I love seeing her so proud of herself on our walk down Blackstone (a place we could have never gone before training). We graduated from private classes last week and had our first group class today (and I do mean we because I think I needed to learn more than Bean). Danielle prepped us well that she might struggle in the group at first but to stay the course and by the end of class she was in a down position with dogs 5 feet away from her on a loose leash. I could not have dreamed she would be where she is when we started. Truly so thankful for Danielle and would highly recommend her as a trainer!!

Danielle is a great trainer. She worked with my dog one-on-one for several sessions at my home and even brought her dogs to work with my dog on a couple of days, which was very helpful. My pup graduated to group classes today, which is exciting. So far, the program has been beneficial, and I would recommend using Dog Training Elite.

We have used other trainers at great expense with our dogs in the past and never had the results we’ve gotten from Danielle. She is outstanding. We adopted a rescue dog 3 years ago with severe anxiety issues. It had gotten to the point where we simply didn’t have people over anymore because of the excessive barking and aggressive behavior. Walks were anything but relaxing, the constant tugging, aggression towards other dogs and humans made it very stressful. We are now four weeks into our private lessons and he is a different dog and a pleasure to have in our family. Danielle comes to your house to train your dog, but more importantly she trains the humans in the house, because let’s face it, we are the issue, not the dog. Like any good training program, you must do the daily 20 minute homework with your pet, but she gives easy to follow instructions and is available for advice between sessions if you have questions. For consistency, I would recommend that all adults who live with the dog attend training sessions, she has always been able to make this work with our schedules. We will be moving into the next phase of group lessons shortly and we are very excited. A month ago the thought of entering a group lesson with unfamiliar dogs and humans would have been anxiety provoking. This is no longer the case. Danielle also has an excellent temperament for training, she is non-judgmental when teaching humans and has extensive personal experience with reactive dogs. I’d give her a 6 out of 5 if I could - she’s that good - and worth every penny. She has been such a positive influence on our household.

Danielle is awesome! She helped me with a 6 year old shepherd that had virtually no training at all. We just had our first group session and I was very nervous. Danielle has been a game changer for us!! We have an adult French Pug and a 5-month-old sheepadoodle that just joined our home. It was not a nice transition until Danielle helped us to work with both dogs. They are both enrolled in Elite and it works!!!!

You can teach an old dog new tricks! We got Penny in the fall of 2019. We went to a few puppy classes, but then the pandemic happened; no more classes, no visitors to the house. Four years later, we couldn't take Penny on a walk without fearing she would lunge at passing dogs and people. Mail or UPS deliver? She'd bark like we were being invaded. Nothing could bring her under control. Enter DTE: after just a few sessions with Danielle Penny immediately improved. After five sessions, she no longer barked at the mailman, and she strolled right by other dogs when we went on a walk. The turnaround was fast and complete; we couldn't believe it! I was apprehensive about using a collar; it seemed "mean" to me. But Danielle assured us, even demonstrating what it feels like. And she's right - it's just a way to get your dog to pay attention to you, not the mailman. A year after training, we only have to use the collar occasionally.

Danielle is amazing! Right in the first 45 minutes my dog learned trust and confidence. My main focus was “recall” This journey started about 8 weeks ago. Rex is now walking with me off leash. Cabo is a rescue who comes with “some” issues - mostly related to reactivity/barking. After 2 years of trying everything, I was ready to give up. I contacted Danielle in tears. She listened, she trained both of us and in no time she helped me and Cabo get to the finish line (well almost - there’s always more to learn). Danielle has given us the skills to train out goldendoodle. Guests in our home have told us that Angus is a different dog. He is well behaved and responds to our commands. They said it is now a pleasure to have him around.

Working with Danielle has been transformative for me and for my dog, Buddy! Buddy came to us as an anxious and reactive rescue dog with a strong prey drive. Danielle has helped me help my beagle be showered with love from everyone she comes in contact with now that she is more disciplined. Beagles by nature are loud, inquisitive and full of energy bred as hunting dogs. This combination often gets them in trouble in domestic situations but once trained a beagle can be the best version of a companion. I HIGHLY recommend DTE! I could not say enough about how amazing this has been. Finn, my standard poodle, just graduated basic obedience training today! He's training to be a service dog, and he's doing so well. I love that the private lessons are at my home. The setup is that you do five one on one classes, then join group classes to reinforce all the skills you and your dog learn in the one on one sessions. Danielle has been INCREDIBLE. I went into this feeling terrified that I wouldn't be able to do this training with Finn, but Danielle has broken it up into easy to digest pieces, with each skill building on the previous one. She is kind, gentle, observant, amazing with dogs (of course), and a fantastic teacher, and her presence immediately puts me at ease, which makes it so much easier for me to work with Finn. The lessons are fun and practical, and even include practicing skills on walks in my own neighborhood. Finn and I are both learning so fast, and I wouldn't have been able to do any of this without Danielle. She's unbelievably supportive, not judgemental in the slightest, and really good at troubleshooting in ways I would never have thought of. As someone who cannot afford to get a pre-trained service dog, I find the price to be quite reasonable for what I'm getting, and it is worth every penny. Remember, you're not paying for a puppy class, you're paying for serious obedience training. It's worth the money. Also, the training package comes with group classes for life, so we can go any time we need to practice, even after he's certified. I've had an amazing experience so far, and I'm so excited for the next step! I'm so glad I found this place! I'd give more than five stars if I could. ✨❤️✨

Danielle helped us to train our Great Dane puppy in no time. We have a toddler and a new born in our house and we wanted to be sure Ringo would be gentle and respectful of the kid’s personal as well as listen to all his commands. With Danielle’s help, we were able to get our 7 month old, 70 lbs, Great Dane to place where we feel comfortable with him around not just the toddler, but the new born baby and guests as wel with minimal supervision.

We reached out to Danielle regarding our 6 year old hound mix who’s part beagle and we are not sure what else. Lexi was your typical dog, behaved generally well and knew commands such as sit, stay, down, etc. She barked at pretty much anything, and would jump on anyone who walked through our door to try to lick their face. Fast forward to late 2022 we noticed Lexi become more skittish and would appear anxious since our son would at times lunge at her unexpectedly. This lasted through the year and she was getting more and more anxious. Fast forward to winter of 2023, our son HATED bath time for a bit as two year olds do, and Lexi started to not quite attack me when clean up his toys but would get aggressive and put herself between me and the toys I was trying to clean. We resorted to locking her in a room at bedtime for my safety since I was pregnant at the time. She also started going after our dog when other dogs would just walk by our home, or if we accidentally so much as stepped on her paw, she would attack our other dog, most times drawing blood. We were at a point of, “do we re-home her”, we have young children and we’re not sure we could trust her to not hurt them or us. This was a dog who completely changed from an easygoing dog to one who became so anxious with children in the home. We are BEYOND grateful to Danielle for coming and working with us, it saved our first baby and showed us that if you put in the love, time, and effort you can also have your beloved pet back. Danielle came out in the end of March for our first one on one session. After the first class we practiced the “come, off, quiet” and within that first week, we noticed a big difference with her barking, jumping on people and coming after me at bedtime. Others who came over that she normally jumped on also noticed a big difference. As the weeks went on, we continued through the program and we got Lexi to the point of being on a leash not pulling, lunging at other dogs and was able to walk along side Danielle’s dog in the final one on one. If you are hesitating, do we try this?, DO IT! We have a completely different dog back and she listens better than she ever has. We are so grateful for this training.

Danielle was great. We have a 10 month old bully mix who is very energetic we also have a child on the way and knew we needed help before she arrives. In Dec 2022 I brought home an 8 week old, highly energetic, husky malamute shepherd mix. Danielle knows what she’s doing with dogs. She is very patient, she goes out of her way to help dog owners train their own dogs, and she’s very accommodating. My dog has become much less reactive, and much more obedient.

It has been a great experience for me as a new dog owner and for my dog to learn so quickly the few commands. My dog knows all the commands to be around small children, busy public spaces and to stay within boundaries in big open spaces.

Zappa is the best dog, so good natured and loving. He is, however 86 pounds and full of energy not knowing his own strength. We contacted Elite and Danielle responded right away. I can’t say enough about Danielle and her training ability. My lab which happens to be a very large dog, was not quite a year old and extremely playful when Danielle came to my house to train him. I was very impressed on how she was able to control him and he listened to her. She taught me how to work with him and now he behaves so well and listens. He used to jump on anyone coming over to the house and I just have to use my command and he stops. He’s still young at 15 months and turning out to be such a good and happy boy!

I can’t truly express how thankful I am for the patience and commitment Danielle has shown us. After working with multiple trainers and vets, along with trying various medications, I was at the end of my rope. My two year old dog had developed severe and dangerous separation anxiety. She broke out of crates, caused significant damage to our house, and was dangerous to herself - she jumped out a second floor window! I was desperately trying to find ways to help her, so we could avoid my worst nightmare - not being able to keep her. Four months into our crisis, after spending thousands of dollars on doggy daycare, trainers, and medicine, I connected with Danielle. I was losing hope because nothing seemed to be working.
