We hired Dog Training Elite to help train our now 10-month-old Belgian Malinois/Lab mix, Bear. If you know anything about Malinois, you know they can be a handful if not trained properly. I highly recommend Dog Training Elite. My dog Jed is a German Shepherd and is very energetic and reactive to social situations. Taylor's sessions built on one another reinforcing proper behavior and adherence to commands. Gaining an understanding on dogs psychology and Jeds specific makeup helped immensely in understanding and applying the training. Taylor went above and beyond with his commitment to the training to making sure all the aspects of the training were clear to my entire family and always available to answer questions outside the sessions. Taylor was the best. He was patient and immediately able to evaluate and customize a training protocol for my reactive dog, Finn. Our in-home sessions went very smoothly and Finn showed improvement each week. I chose the package with in-home and 12 group sessions after and we started with our first group session on Saturday. Working with Vincent and Dog Training Elite has been the greatest investment we've made for our 11 month old bernedoodle, Percy. I was recommended to Dog Training Elite by a friend and would recommend them to anyone. I've worked with three incredible trainers and they all have brought different strengths. Vinny, who I had for obedience, helped me get my high energy dog (who thought he was king of the house) ready for the service program with Betsy. Vinny took a lot of time helping me with Twig and was very thorough with his training and explanations, which helped us feel very prepared for our public access test (which we passed!). Vinny is also great with communication for scheduling and appointments.

Tiya is a totally new dog since we started working with Vincent!! Vincent is an excellent canine trainer I was so fortunate to encounter after signing up with Dog Training Elite. I have a 1 year old male Bernadoodle, Poppy, who was disruptive, impulsive and often physically uncontrollable. Although Poppy had worked with other trainers during his first year, his issues were not resolved. From our first session with Vincent, Poppy’s behavior started to rapidly improve. Vincent worked with Poppy, and me, on his obedience and social skills. Poppy continues to improve and I now feel confident walking him in parks. Our super energetic Corgi wore us all down with his constant barking, biting and failure to respond to basic commands. After a year-and-a-half of his uncontrollable behavior, we were beginning to lose hope. I saw an ad on Instagram for Dog Training Elite and reached out to Taylor. Training our Doberman, Pepper, with Vinny for the last several months has been great. He is especially skilled with “difficult” and high energy breeds, and he has an obvious natural inclination for working with dogs. Pepper is totally enamored with him and gets so excited to get out of the car and see Vinny as soon as he spots him. What can I say. Taylor has helped my dog, Peter Parker, become the obedient and calm dog, he would show glimpses of in the past. Taylor came, got to know Peter Parker, and talked to my family about our goals with Peter. Peter was a German shepherd that barked at almost every dog, pulled excessively, and was easily excited by every animal and person. Taylor taught us the right way to walk Peter and taught Peter manners. It's up to you, as the owner, to take the knowledge that Taylor gives you and build upon and reinforce it. Taylor's knowledge and expertise is well-worth the price. Peter was seen as the problem child in my house and is, now, the best behaved. His groomer, my relatives, and my friends have noticed the difference in Peter and has complimented his behavior. I wish I had sought Taylor's help long before I actually did.

We have been able to make good progress with our puppy under Taylor’s expert guidance. Not only did Dog Training Elite provide effective instruction and demonstration to help us and our dog succeed but the instruction may have saved our puppy’s life. He managed to slip out of his harness one day while my husband was walking him, and run toward the street. My husband issued the ‘come’ command, and the puppy immediately turned back around and ran to my husband. No outcome of dog training can surpass the joy and relief of a puppy saved from potential harm. This training was truly money well spent.

Taylor did an amazing job helping us with our dog Odin. Odin is a 160lbs adopted Anatolian Shepard who started exhibiting some intense dog reactivity about 8 months ago. Our dog presented a unique challenge in that he is very small and (was) incredibly scared. He was aggressive and hard to manage. The trainers are very patient and obviously love animals. They instilled so much confidence in him that he is no longer the skittish, reactive dog he once was. They also made my family more confident dog owners. My husband and I recently worked with Taylor with Dog Training Elite and he was fantastic! We rescued our dog a year and a half ago and while she is amazing, she definitely had some issues. Particularly she was a bit whiney, did some naughty digging, rarely listened to us, and was leash reactive. Walking our dog was something that gave us anxiety. Taylor really took the time to get to know all of us and tailor the training to help us succeed. The house visits in my opinion were crucial in helping to identify what we could improve. She quickly learned commands like sit, place, down, come, and heel. Just in a remarkable two months, she now has corrected most of her undesirable behaviors. Walks are no longer anxiety producing! I would 10/10 recommend this program and I wish we had done it sooner. The group classes are also really great to test your skills and everyone is extremely supportive. This is Nala, she is a completely crazy high energy lab puppy we introduced into our family of two young kids, 6 and 1. We are experienced dog owners but we’re really struggling with biting, barking, destructive zoomies, eating the walls…you name it, she was doing it at Mach 10. Working with Taylor was great. Our goal for our dog was to have a well behaved family dog that could go on outdoor adventures with me. We finished our 1 on 1 program with just that. We were able to build a great base that we were able to expand that base into other areas. We have a nice 20 foot radius that Cody stays within during our hikes and once it warms up I have confidence we will be able to canoe or kayak with the dog in the boat. We worked with Toni for over a month with our dog Rosie who has severe anxiety outside with walks and people, and was unable to control herself around a new baby in our family. Toni did an amazing job training Rosie and teaching us the skills we needed to continue that training. Rosie went from not being able to sit still when the baby was around to staying calm in place, and still being able to be near him. It has been an unbelievable change! Rosie has been doing much better and walks and is getting more comfortable being outside every day. It's like we have a new dog!!! Been working with Toni from Dog Training Elite for over 8 weeks now in the Service Dog program. I can say with 100% certainty that I’m beyond grateful she was the one that knocked on my door for my dog Rozays Service Dog evaluation. She has been nothing short of amazing and has turned my dog into a completely different animal. He’s reached heights and done things I never thought were possible for him. This is all thanks to Toni. She is so good with my dog that he takes almost immediately to her new commands and gets excited on Mondays when he sees her for his training sessions. I don’t think I would ever let anybody else, but Toni train my dog. She’s very understanding of mine and my dogs needs. She definitely knows how to train dogs and get them to listen to her all while still maintaining a safe, comfortable and fun environment for my dog. If there is anyone deserving of a nice raise it’s Toni. She works with minimal stuff and still has an excellent outcome. Poor girl uses her own car to travel and train pups in a bunch of different locations. The company definitely needs to give her a car or a van or something to travel in! Treat that girl right because she does excellent work!! There is no elite in dog training without Toni! I almost want to call the company and complain to give that poor girl a car to use! We recently had our five year old dog go missing for 44 days. About 30 days in, we decided to foster a new 6 month old puppy. She arrived super hyper, overly excitable, not listening at all and mostly out of control with joy from being away from the Rescue. She was really hard to manage. In the meantime, our old dog was returned and now we found ourselves the owners, of two similar dogs.. We knew we had to get a Trainer asap. Our neighbor suggested, Taylor at Dog Training Elite based on witnessing him interact with his dog Skye at a demonstration in Kennett Square, PA. So we went for it! After 5 weeks, we couldn’t be happier and neither could our puppy, Sadie. Somehow she’s listening, responding to commands, walking on leash really well and as a result, an overall joy to be around. In addition, Taylor spent time giving us a concrete strategy on how to have to the two dogs interact and get know each other. (which will take time) Taylor is an excellent and experienced trainer with a calm demeanor that both our dogs respond very favorably towards. As Dog owners, we now have more confidence and a solid understanding of what it means to be a successful dog owners. Thanks Taylor!

Taylor was great to work with, and he accomplished in 5 weeks what we thought was impossible! He was prompt, professional, and great with us and our puppy. We have a 10 month-old rascally Yorkie, so it was no small undertaking. He said we’d see results after week 1, and he was not exaggerating. We still have a way to go, but we already have the foundation to have a well-behaved puppy! I would recommend this to any pet owner, no matter how obstinate the dog!

Working with Toni has been an awesome experience! We reached out after noticing a progressive issue with leash reactivity/play aggression in our Irish Doodle as he matured. Working with Toni has been amazing! After adopting an older dog with some aggression issues, I reached out for help making my German Shepherd feel comfortable in her new home as well as get her trained in basic commands. Toni came to our home on a flexible schedule that worked for us and has sorted out all our concerns. She’s helped build an amazing bond between me and my dog! Toni is gentle and consistent in her approach, making it easy to trust her through the tougher parts of training, like my dogs aggression towards other dogs and certain people. Dog Training Elite uses E-collars and it has made huge strides in just a couple months. I was hesitant at first but Toni taught me how to use it properly and how a low stimulus could catch the attention of my reactive dog without pain. My pup is starting to make new doggy friends because of this training and I can’t wait to see her living her best life by the end of the sessions! We’re forever grateful!

Our dog, Andy, was reactive to dogs he didn’t know plus had a few other bad habits too. Betsy worked with him as well as us and while it is hard for us to believe Andy can now walk past other dogs quietly when on walks. His other bad habits disappeared once he believed we were in charge and could take care of whatever was going on in his world. Betsy and dog training elite Philadelphia are the best trainers around. I sent my 3 year old puppy, Artemis, to a board and train facility for several weeks. She understood the commands but was far from perfect. We called Betsy to help us tune up Artemis but through that process, we became totally bought in and elected to make her a therapy dog, with the goal of taking her to CHOP to help young children deal with in tough situations. An absolutely incredible experience. Betsy and her team are literally the reason I’m able to keep my pup. I found on the street outside of my home, clearly used to breed and mistreated. This meant she obviously came with a lot of baggage, of which I was unable to handle on my own. Betsy came in and showed nothing but empathy for our situation, and even after Peri’s apparent dislike for authority, she never gave up and saw our potential. Peri will now sit anywhere I command her no, and not. I’ve until I say so. She has stopped chewing random things in my home, I haven’t lost a sock to her stomach (to then find it a couple days later) in months. I could not be happier, nor more grateful to have Betsy and this team in my life. 10/10 recommend. The concept of training WITH your dog creates an unbreakable bond between the owner and canine, and I’m so happy I chose this route opposed to a send away training. Dog Training Elite solved my dog's fear based aggression very quickly. It was almost immediate. I realize that every dog is different and hesitate to set expectations but my experience was great. We now able to have visitors in the house and not lock the dog in a room. I am even able to take her off leash for walks. Something I never would have imagined before training. The Staff at Dog Training Elite were great and responsive.

This technique has been very helpful with our dog who’s been well trained but whose guarding instincts made inviting people into our home very stressful. Betsy is awesome and her technique is proving a great tool- totally improving our experience with visitors. Frida still guards all of the time- but now she will focus and listen for direction and go to her place as people are coming in when asked.

Excellent dog trainers! We have a three year old Golden Retriever who had many issues, among them a fear of getting in a car, pulling while walking, and basically ignoring the command “come”. Our trainer was professional and so kind, we got these issues resolved in no time. I highly recommend this company. We are now happy pet-parents of a well-trained dog!

Betsy is a terrific dog trainer and a wonderful person! We live on a 52 acre farm in Chester county and have 2 dogs she helped train over the last 2 months. They would often run off into the woods after deer, fox, skunks (yuck!!) but after the training they stay right with us all the time. They are happy they get more freedom off leash and we are happy they don’t run off! Couldn’t recommend more highly!

Ollie is a 20# Terrier Mix we adopted from a rescue organization 2 years ago. He came to us with serious problems-wild eyes(wouldn’t make eye contact), repetitive behaviors(running for hours in patterns, chasing lights and shadows), extreme fear and anxiety over separation, loud noises, car rides etc. We watched training videos, read books on dog behavior, had 4 sessions with a prior trainer, spent hours playing with interactive dog toys, rocking him to calm him down and trying to provide a peaceful, safe environment. It felt like we had a special needs dog and indeed he had most of the characteristics of Canine Compulsive Disorder. We worried constantly. Medication from the Vet, calming chews, and working with him over time helped to some degree, but we couldn’t seem to get past his episodes of extreme anxiety which would override any progress. Then along came Betsy with DTE. Despite Ollie’s problems and our resistance to implement the e-collar, Betsy was certain she could help. First order of business was assuring and reassuring us that the collar is no more than a “tap on the shoulder” to gain and reinforce his attention. The changes in him are unbelievable! He is calmer, happier, and more trusting. Though we are continuing to work with him, Ollie’s repetitive behaviors are rare and he actually rode in the car without shrieking and jumping hysterically. Although Ollie is still a work in progress, DTE has been a God send and has given us a sweet boy that we can actually enjoy. Betsy has been professional, friendly, supportive, knowledgeable, and only want the best outcome for the dog and the owner. We are so appreciative. Thank you DTE

I really can’t put into writing how grateful I am that I found dog training elite. My Airedale is a bit over one year old and we spent six months with a different trainer, trying treats, slip leads, prong collars and she was still so reactive on a leash to other dogs. People were scared of her and I dreaded walking her. I’ve had three sessions with Betsy and it’s a miracle. I don’t dread taking Addy for walks and her behavior on a leash is a 180 degree difference.
