General

What is involved with a free assessment?

One of our trainers will visit your home to meet you and your dog and discuss any issues you're facing. We will then demonstrate one of our model dogs so you can see what you can expect after hiring our trainers. From there, we will discuss the various packages we offer and which we feel best suit your (and your dog's) needs.

How do your services differ from your competitors?

We provide full obedience training that covers all basic commands, both on and off-leash. Our in-home visits target specific issues like counter-surfing, digging, and more. Unlike some trainers, we work with all breeds, including those often considered challenging.

Will I (or my family) be involved with the training?

Yes. You (and anyone in your family who wants to be involved) are integral to your dog getting trained. We need you to practice 5-6 days a week, about 15-20 minutes a day for optimal results.

How often are the training sessions?

Once a week. We come to you (with the silver, gold and platinum packages) once a week to start your dog off, then you come to park sessions which are held once a week in Las Vegas.

I just have a few issues with my dog, can we cover those issues only?

To effectively resolve specific issues, we need to start with a solid foundation in obedience. This approach helps you become a confident leader for your dog, which is key to addressing and preventing behavioral problems.

Can you train husbands, wives or kids?

Nope. Those are dangerous grounds to tread upon. We'd much rather train a vicious dog!

Do you train all breeds, shapes and sizes?

We train dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Whether your dog is a tiny Chihuahua or a large Mastiff, we have the experience and expertise to work with them.

Do you work with aggressive dogs?

Yes. Working with and controlling aggression is one of our specialties in Las Vegas.

What kind of service dogs do you train?

We focus on training companion dogs for veterans and individuals with PTSD and other psychological conditions. In addition to service animals, we also train therapy dogs that visit hospitals, nursing homes, and treatment centers.

What kind of temperament does my dog need to have to be service trained?

To be a service dog, your dog needs to have an even temperament. Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, Standard Poodles, Goldendoodles, etc. typically have a great temperament for service work. For some types of service work, your dog will need to have AKC certifications (such as Canine Good Citizen or Community Canine) which we are able to certify. As always, we would be happy to assess your dog's aptitude for service work for free!

Nick was awesome! He helped so much with our little pup Kali, we were having a hard time with having her being a little bit rebellious and sometimes disobedient but he was able to help out tremendously. Nick is very down to earth and patient. He got our dog prepped for his therapy dog exam, which he passed on his first try. He never pushed too hard but also met our pup where he was at and got him to excel. The commands learned where unique to what setting we were going to volunteer in. We also enjoy the group classes any chance we get as a refresher of skills.

Our dog needed obedience training and the improvement has been amazing - she is calmer, more responsive, and just better behaved all around. Elon was a10 month old mini poodle when we started with Nick at Dog Training Elite. He's a medium size dog compared to the toy poodles we had in the past and double the weight. He also has double the energy and loves doing the zoomies, especially at bedtime. Being in our 70's, we needed help. Nick has a very quiet and understanding demeaner and loves dogs. Elon immediatly jumped on him and licked him thinking it was playtime. However, he also realized in a very short time that Nick meant business. Nick trained him to stay, go to his bed, heal, stay down, potty outside, and pay attention to my commands within 5 hour sessions at our home. He did so well, we decided to have him be a service dog. He "hugs" us now when we have anxiety by cuddling us and putting his full weight on our laps. Nick never raises his voice, and trains with love and affection. Nick does use a collar, but mostly for vibration that can be adjusted. Dog Training Elite and Nick went beyond our expectations. He definitly has a gift. Thank you, Nick.

Nick, with Dog Training Elite, was A-MAZing! We received his name as a referral and ran with it. We have TWO frenchies, who were a bit crazy...at only 11 months old. Our goal was not to train them on all things, but to have them listen, interact with guests, follow a series of commands, and be well behaved in our busy home. I am a first time dog owner and my Bernedoodle kind of fell into my lap one day and never left. The 1.5 year old puppy needed training in obedience and just the basics. I had no idea what I was doing and turned to Dog Elite Training. Colin was our trainer and I learned as much as my dog did. My puppy has made so much progress in the one-on-one sessions. Within a week of starting training, the most problematic behavior Colin addressed was dramatically improved. I would highly recommend Colin as a trainer. He is patient and is not an aggressive trainer as the prior one I attempted to have was. My dog loves Colin and has learned so much.

Originally from Denver, Colorado, I moved to Las Vegas in 2017 after earning my degree in Business Marketing. After five years in the corporate world, I found a more meaningful path with Dog Training Elite: helping dogs and their families enjoy a better life together.

My goal is to make training practical, approachable, and tailored to the dog in front of me. Every dog has a different personality, and every family has different goals. I focus on building confidence, improving communication, and giving owners the skills to continue making progress long after our sessions.

My own dog, Kaden, is a big part of why this work means so much to me. My family loves being able to bring him along on our adventures, and I want other families to experience that same freedom and connection with their dogs. For me, the most rewarding part of training is seeing families enjoy time together that once felt stressful or out of reach.

Las Vegas has always been home to me, and I love getting to build something here with my husband, Nick. Being part of Dog Training Elite Southwest Las Vegas brings together two things I care about most: animals and the people who love them.

As a mom of two, life is busy, but our dog, Kaden, is always part of the mix. Whether we’re heading out for an adventure or spending time at home, he’s family. That’s why it means so much to help other families enjoy life with their dogs, too.

You’ll usually find me behind the scenes, helping with scheduling, answering questions, and keeping things running smoothly. I want you to feel comfortable reaching out and excited to get started.
