My wife and I recently completed Dog Training Elite Upstate SC's one-on-one training program with our rescue dog, Ruby, and we could not be happier with the results. When we first adopted Ruby, she was reactive toward strangers, children, and other dogs. Because we enjoy traveling once or twice a year, we knew she needed formal training to help her become more confident and comfortable in new situations. We met with several trainers who all seemed knowledgeable and capable, but we ultimately chose DTE because Jared Smearman treated Ruby as an important member of our family rather than a dog that needed training. We also appreciated the opportunity to participate directly in the training process instead of sending her away to a boarding program. One of the biggest surprises was how quickly we learned to communicate with Ruby. Jared and Sydney provided practical methods and valuable insight that helped us become better dog owners while strengthening our bond with her. Ruby learned commands such as come, off, quiet, place, heel, sit, and down. Today, Ruby is happier, more confident, and significantly less reactive than when we adopted her. It has been such a relief to trust her in situations that once felt stressful and to watch her true personality emerge. The investment in training has improved not only Ruby's life but ours as well. For starters, the people that own this company have a heart for animals and a heart for people! They are intentional, honest, and flexible. I have a two year old golden doodle who started in their program around six months of age. We had some life challenges and needed to pause our lessons. They were so gracious! The teaching is amazing, andit works! My dog is a pleasure because he’s well-behaved, and A welcome guest (As long as you’re a pet lover 😉) In other people’s homes and outdoor environments. We still have work to do, but the consistency is what we own as pet owners. I’m so grateful I was referred to Dog Training Elite! I highly recommend them. It is worth every penny of investment.

What a fantastic experience for our dog. This training truly changed out dog and because of that, really improved so much about our life. Walks were so difficult - so much pulling, jumping on people and other dogs; we started getting a bad name in the neighborhood. Dog Training Elite helped us so that now walks are so much more enjoyable and fun. We are so grateful!

Jared and Sydney are awesome! I’ve had many dogs but this is our first time using professionals to train one. Our Great Dane puppy caught on quickly to the training and I’ve learned great techniques to use in the future. Highly recommend!

So grateful for Jared and his incredible team of trainers. I got my first dog and had no clue what I was doing. My sweet dog was running the show and pretty out of control..my fault! But thanks to the training and encouragement Cash is like a new dog! He still has his sweet spunky personality but now I don’t feel so overwhelmed, and I am in control. Thank you guys so much!

I’ve had my first four private training sessions with Sydney and I’m so impressed at how well Max has done! Max had become very reactive towards other dogs and very anxious in general towards people. In 4 weeks he’s gone from barking and growling at other dogs to sitting calmly as they walk by. He’s gained more confidence and learning not to be anxious in situations where he’s not as comfortable. 100% worth the training. I also love that I’m involved in the one on one and class training and not just dropping Max off for two weeks to be trained. We are both learning and it’s been invaluable. Sydney is very knowledgeable and personable. I’ve loved working with her!

My dog and I LOVED our experience at dog trailing elite. Not only does my dog get excited for the training sessions but it has really made her more calm and obedient. I wish I did this sooner. Highly recommend them! The trainers are so nice and reply to my messages so quickly. I'm so pleased with their services!

I've read all the reviews, before choosing: DOG TRAINING ELITE, now I'm returning the favor. This is the place to go if you want to teach your dog some manners, and unknowingly build a better relationship with your fur baby. Staff is top notch in every way! My dog went from an unmanageable happy dog. To a very well responsible and very happy dog. In a matter of only 6 weeks.

The turn around with Swati’s behavior was amazing. She was a rescue and quite a handful. I was overwhelmed. Taking her here for training was definitely the right decision. Sydney is awesome.

Highly recommend DTE! Sydney was professional, patient, and knowledgeable. She cares about your dog, but also the priorities of your family and works closely with you to problem-solve and train your dog to fit right into your family lifestyle. Dogs can sense a good person, and I think it says something that our dog would always get excited when Sydney was around. We just completed the one-on-one sessions and look forward to the group lessons. When looking into different training options, we thought about sending our dog to a “boarding school” and I’m so glad we didn’t. DTE taught us so much about not just training for good behaviors, but strengthening the bond and trust we have with our pup. Ultimately, we hope to train our dog as a therapy dog and I feel we’re on the right track thanks to DTE.

Elite Upstate was amazing. They are super responsive with any questions and super helpful. Our in-home trainer, Sydney, was so good with Penelope and patient with us humans. :) I also love that we are able to train without treats. We attended our first group class today and it was great. Great way for healthy dog interactions and learning with distractions.

Dog Training Elite is remarkable. I’ve taken several training courses over the years that I’ve had babies, I so wish I had these folks back then. This will let a life time now. Gracie still has a road to travel but much easier to understand. Can’t wait for more training:) Thank you

We are so happy with the training you all have done with Sanka, our corgi, and with us! You were highly recommended by a friend and I was skeptical that it would make a difference unless we implemented everything perfectly on our end when she wasn't in a training session. But she responded so well and the results were seen fairly quickly. Having her to place while we are eating or when we need her to not be involved in what is going on around her has been HUGE! She is so much better behaved that she gets to do more and is more fun to have around other people. Jared was very flexible with the training schedule and was great about focusing on the specific things with which we needed help during the later sessions. We are now looking forward to doing the group sessions, which I think are great additional services provided. Can't say enough good things about the training!

This was a great experience for our puppy as well as the family. I am absolutely amazed by how much he learned in a short amount of time. We had a wonderful experience with Sydney and would highly recommend this to any dog owner. We look forward to continuing the training through group sessions!

We just finished the final in-home training session for our two 1.5 year old black lab pups and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results of the training. Sydney and Jared both did an amazing job teaching us how to work with our pups, and we now have so many tools. In the pups, we saw an immediate response to the training and they have only increased in positive behaviors since the start. We are excited to begin the group sessions, and feel it will only enhance even more our dogs’ ability to restrain unwanted behaviors and work productively. We truly have been so pleased to have DTE work with our pups, and couldn’t recommend their services more highly.
