We were extremely impressed with wonderful Alex who came to the house for initial review and training. Then we met Jan for the in depth instruction. Jan Hernandez is the GOAT-Greatest Of All Times- dog trainer. His explanations and directions are comprehensive but clear. He is kind, intelligent, funny, professional and PATIENT…with dogs as well as humans. Our puppy is a pistol, but Jan maintained the perfect pitch with her throughout. VERY PLEASED.

I researched this facility after my neurologist and therapist agreed my needs required a service dog. Getting the dog was one thing. Training him? Another thing. Due to some medical issues, Cyno had to be quarantined from the public. Cyno started to be a lot to handle with puppy energy. Nibbling, chasing our cats, barking at people wearing hats (weird trigger, I know) disobedience, nervousness, seperation anxiety, etc. I was completely worried he was not cut out to be a service dog. We brought Cyno to DTE West Houston. Jan has been working with us and within TWO weeks of obedience, I have a completely different dog. We were given homework each day to strengthen skills with Cyno. Jan answered any questions, no matter how small or dumb I thought they might be. Jan answered with utmost patience and understanding. It's not just the dog who needs training. A human also needs to be trained just as well as their dog to be keep up the good work the trainers put in! Cyno is now more confident, well behaved and interested in his work. My cats are chill with Cyno now. He's a completely different dog from before DTE. I have no doubts now that he's cut to be a service dog. From service dog to companion dog, i have no doubts DTE West Houston can help. And I am super glad they exist honestly. Without them, I don't think my boy would be as wonderful as he is without their guidance and help.

We adopted a rescued Chihuahua, Lynda, from Mutts and Meows. We were told she was the longest resident no one wanted her because she was what Mutts and Meows said skittish and not social. This was far from the truth this girl was filled with fear from abuse and probably from a man. However we were not going to let her go back and live in fear. Looking at our options we chose to try a trainer, we choose, Dog Training Elite West Houston and it was the best decision we could have made. The very first home visit, Alex had this girl calm, we could get a harness and leash on her, we were able to walk her, was able to touch Lynda and we could pet her, before Alex, we could not even get close to her or she would run and hide anywhere and anyway. She was so scared of us and everybody she was so sad. I swear Alex is part dog we were so amazed and impressed over the weeks she has improved 90% she still has a problem with Cliff but Loves Mary Ann and that’s enough for now. We want to send a heartfelt thank you to Alex of (Dog Training Elite West) and the entire staff that helped make the process so easy Lynda is happy, calm, and knows that this is her forever home. Linda still gives Cliff the stink eye but we are working on that. She will walk past him and will sleep in the bed with him and let him feed her. Thank you

My Doberman puppy and I have had great success with their training program. The instructors are professional dog trainers with an incredible amount of patience and experience with all types of dogs. My 8 month Doby is now 56lbs and I'm 5'1. Without their help I would not be able to walk my dog without being dragged by her, she's can already over power me, but she doesn't. Highly recommend their dog training services.

DTE has been an amazing help for our rescue dog. From the first at home visit, we knew that the trainer, Alex, would be great for helping our dog with aggression issues and socialization. The one on one, at home training sessions that occur before group training give a perfect foundation and ample time for practice before joining group training sessions. Alex brought one of his dogs, Delta, who is immaculately well trained, to our house for our last at-home session to help socialize our dog and practice being around other dogs in as low-stress an environment as possible. We have really enjoyed the sense of community with group training each week and have seen wonderful changes in our dog's temperament and socialization. After a stray dog attack shortly after we adopted him, we feared he would never be able to be near other dogs, but he has many friends now that he happily sniffs and interacts with. I cannot recommend DTE highly enough!

I hate to say that I almost gave up in the beginning but Alex would not allow me to get trapped in my head with thoughts of defeat. He gave me the tools to take it step by step. Slow and steady paid off and now he alerts with nothing more than praise. Talia provided great guidance in one on one classes and in group classes and Alex provided me with the tools that I needed to work with my pup. As he grew he learned to trust me and he loves his job. He is only 10 months old and passed his public service test 2 months ago. He is always working, even when he is playing! He makes it a point to sniff me to make sure that my blood sugars are ok. He invades my person space often to check to see if he smells a high or a low blood sugar and when he does he is tapping my thigh to let me know that something is wrong. Then he does a great job of letting me know before if it is a high or a low blood sugar. Amazing what that little nose can do! He is always searching for me to make sure that he knows that I am ok and when I am not, he is quick to alert. He is the most behaved, well tempered dog that I have and I know it is because of the one on one training that we received. I am very appreciative and I highly recommend using dog training elite Houston.

I'm not usually one to leave reviews, but thanks to Alex and his business I'm slowly getting my life back. It has been nothing short of amazing to have someone so compassionate, devoted, and patient training my dog to be my service animal. I'd had my disability diagnosis for a long time, but I always thought getting my dog trained would be out of my reach. I had done a cursory search on Google in the past and found that the price points for service dog training were altogether inaccessible for me. Enter Dog Training Elite. After finding them on Google, I submitted my information, and had Alex call me back almost immediately. From the very first meeting, Alex put me right at ease. We resolved to start my English Shepherd, Moony, in obedience training with the goal of transitioning her to service training if she did well. Throughout the entire process, Alex brought positive energy, patience, and a calming confidence to our training sessions. He balances a warm personality with professionalism, and his love of animals shines through in every session. At times when I was unsure Moony would be able to learn something new, he encouraged both me and Moony to keep practicing. Moony was stubborn and energetic, but Alex believed in her ability to learn. He believed in her ability to grasp the commands even when I was anxious that she wouldn't. My training sessions with Alex and Moony are always the highlight of my week. We have been in training with Alex for 4 months, and Moony has officially passed her service dog test! Thanks to Alex, I am slowly regaining control of my life.
