I have nothing but good things to say about Dog Training Elite. The training that they’ve provided have turned our wild rescue pup into a well behaved pooch. They have several different levels of training that they offer. We opted for 3 weeks of training camp followed by four in home training sessions and then group sessions for the life of our pup. Yes - you heard that correct - for the life of the pup. We’re able to take Molly to restaurants and bars and she is more well behaved than some of the customers! Another thing that was an added bonus is training your pup really helps you bond. We had no idea. I guess at this point we are well trained as well..lol

From the very first session, Tina not only worked wonders with my dog, Bianca, but also took the time to train me as an owner. Dog Training Elite is the best! After 8 private sessions, my dog has seen significant improvements! It used to be impossible to take her on a walk, but now we can do so comfortably with minimal pulling. She has also learned many other helpful commands including sit, down, and coming when she is called. Tina and her team of trainers are patient and polite, treating every dog like family and helping owners achieve their desired goals for their pups. They do an amazing job of accommodating both the client’s and pet’s needs throughout the training process, creating a schedule and timeline that best meets an individual’s unique circumstances. I highly recommend Dog Training Elite!

Amazing price and service. Assisted with reactivity in one dog and fear of dogs with the other dog. There is still work to do everyday but definitely gave the correct tools to do the work and help them be successful. All the trainers are amazing. Best thing we did.

Tina (and her staff) have been great to work with and are especially good at meeting us "where we are" in our dog journey. :-) This has been both figuratively and literally. We have livestock guardian dogs, which are a distinct breed from most. Tina has helped us achieve our personal goals and has been willing to meet us at various locations to accomplish these objectives. We have been very comfortable and delighted with Tina's work with our new puppies! -- we highly recommend Dog Training Elite!! Dog Training Elite Panama City is absolutely incredible!! I started my mini dachshund, Woody, here at 12 weeks old in the puppy training. The trainers had Woody sitting, doing down, coming on command, among many other commands within the first week! Sunnee has been especially incredible as we moved to in-home training. She’s very calm and gentle with her training, but highly effective. My pup absolutely loves her. I recommend Dog Training Elite for your dog training needs! Dog training elite has been a tremendous help and a great experience. Lily has been absolutely wonderful and patient with scheduling and rescheduling. Sunnee our trainer was a pleasure to work with. She's very knowledgeable and, passionate about the training and, ensuring you get the results you desire. We noticed a difference in Val after the first session. We had a late session one evening and Val was tired. We put her in place, and she decided she was done for the day. She went to the back of her doghouse and would not come out. Sunnee climbed right in there and brought her back out. We knew then Sunnee took her job serious. Sonnee will be respectful and talk soft, but she doesn't have a problem keeping the owner and dog involved with the training. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! About a year ago when our family wanted to get a puppy, we knew training was something we wanted to invest in. After searching the local area for pet trainers, we came across Dog training elite and decided to call and set up a tour. We have never had a puppy before and wanted to make sure we were setting our new addition up for success and boy have we!! Our now 1 year old Corgi has been with DTE for about 10 months and has been such an angel with commands, tricks and obedience than we could've imagined she'd be. DTE from the beginning has been so kind to our family and our pup. They have been there for any questions we have had, addressed concerns we've had promptly with our pup, provides a drop in dog camp for our girl to continue to be shown love, training and playtime with her best friends. DTE will always be a part of our journey. The whole experience we've had so far is far more valuable than money.

Dog Training Elite has the best trainers around-- my Goldendoodle (and I!) went through two weeks of training, and it changed my relationship with him for the better. He's more obedient, more respectful of others, and I feel like I can take him anywhere without worrying about his behavior around other people. He loves his trainers, Sunny and Jeremiah! After his training was completed, he passed his Canine Good Citizen test, and he is on the way to being a therapy dog. I highly recommend Dog Training Elite!

I can’t say enough good things about Dog Training Elite Emerald Coast! From the moment I reached out, Lily has been so communicative and responsive. She made the whole process feel smooth and reassuring. When I had any concerns the owner, Tina, personally called me to walk me through everything. She explained my options clearly and helped find what would work best for me—and it worked out perfectly! They genuinely listen to your needs and tailor the training to you and your dog. They even upload photos and videos to a shared Google Drive so you can see your fur baby’s daily progress, which I absolutely love. The in-home training has been a perfect fit for us since it focuses on where our pup spends the most time—at home. A huge shoutout to Sunnee, who’s been nothing short of amazing. She’s incredibly patient and teaches you things you wouldn’t even think about when it comes to dog training. I couldn’t have done this without her! With a baby due in mid-May, I was on a time crunch, and they were so understanding. They worked diligently with me to find a schedule and training plan that fit. We needed a trainer very badly for our Berger Picard. We were very skeptical taking him to just anyone. My daughter recommended Dog training Elite , since that is where she took her schnauzer. It’s amazing how he went from not listening to anything to where he is today. Chewbacca was very stubborn, and had anxiety issues really bad. After the first week of training we were amazed how he had changed. In 3 weeks he is now a stable dog, and we are able to take him places with us without him freaking out. And he actually comes when we call him. Thank you so much Jeremiah and Sunny for all the hard work you did with Chewbacca . We would highly recommend Dog training Elite Emerald coast to anyone. And if you get Jeremiah or Sunny for the trainers you will definitely be very pleased .

Ms Betty, my shepard mix, and I moved to Pensacola in October 2024. When I adopted her I was her fourth home in one year. Needless to say she came wit a lot of issues. I'm so glad that Dog Training Elite was recommended to me! The owner, Tina, and her team are the best! Tina, was so good during our training sessions! I cannot recommend this place enough, I wish I had the ability to leave more stars. I was referred to them by a friend and I’m beyond grateful for the recommendation. I was struggling with a shy, timid dog that made it difficult to do anything outside of my house. They gave my boy Rusty some much needed confidence and made him a much more obedient, well behaved dog all around. The staff treated him like one of their own and he was always so excited to be at the facility. I highly recommend this place for any training needs!

Tina and her team have been fantastic to work with. You could really tell they all love dogs. Amy Frenchie Arlo loved going classes daily. After the weeks of daily training. Tina kept us up-to-date with daily photo posts on a shared drive so we can monitor how Arlo was doing. We loved see the photos and hearing and seeing first hand his progress. Tina does group classes to help reinforce what the dogs learn and for their owners to learn how to operate and handle the dog to match their Training. She has setup Training with the airport to go through TSA as service animals. I am so glad for the continued support and opportunities to reinforce the training not only for my dog but for myself as his owner. It's nice to know the support will continue until both myself snd my dog feel comfortable. Thank you for all of your support, training, and genuine caring for our little Arlo. Here's a funny one where he decided to take a break in the middle of an obstacle course. They kept him busy and tuckered out daily.

When I adopted my puppy from the shelter, he had been abandoned at just four weeks old. Knowing how shelters can be, I wanted to give him a better chance at life. Early on, I started noticing signs of aggression and resource guarding, which became overwhelming. I felt hopeless at times but refused to give up on him, knowing what would happen if he went back. After doing some research, I found Lily, who was incredibly kind and quick to call me to discuss options for building my puppy’s confidence. I ultimately chose Sunnee as our trainer, and I cannot express how grateful I am for her. Sunnee is patient, creative, and truly listens. Sunnee and Tina have done a great job with our puppy Bailey. Bailey is a now 9 month old miniature Schnauzer. Their training program works. Her main bad habit was barking at strangers (ALL strangers anywhere). We were able to train her out of this in no time. She's also getting better about the barking at our home. Great experience and you can tell they really like their Dogs (students). Thanks to the complete staff at EDT. We are really glad the Baileys doctor recommend you.

My wife, I and JJ had our 2nd in home with Sunnee and it was the best appointment ever. Sunnee and JJ went for a walk and instead of JJ leading the way he walked along side and is the pup we always wanted. Elite Dog Training has been a blessing for my wife and I. JJ is manageable and a joy to have in the house. Before Elite we were at our wits end, now JJ is a pleasure to be in our family. Sunnee and Lily have done a great job with JJ and even turned him into circus dog. It is always fun to see what Sunnee comes up with for a new trick. The whole EDT team will train and love your fur baby. Using EDT would be in your best interest for training or doggie daycare. It is a must!

I’m only a few lessons in so far and already it’s as though I have a different pup. My dog sits and comes and stays with me. I’m used to older dogs. I got a puppy and really needed help to create a well mannered companion. I don’t feel I could have chosen better than Elite. They always answer my questions. I never feel rushed. Second to None! My Belgium Malinois (Scout) is a well-trained, obedient Service Dog thanks to Dog Training Elite. The one-on-one training, group training, compassion, love, and dedication are what set these trainers apart. What was I thinking??? Getting a new puppy at my age??? THANK GOODNESS I stopped in Dog Training Elite here in Panama City to inquire. It had only been 5 days, 6 hours, 22 minutes and 16 seconds since we picked up our Portugese Water Dog from the Breeder. I WAS WORN OUT and he was only 11 weeks old! After talking with Lily about the options of what they could do to 'help'....and of course puppy training, lol, I left to think it over. I had already potty trained him but the puppy obedience course was an investment in time and money. When I got back home, it only took a minute to see our adorable puppy, Buoy, and realize he needed obedience training beyond what I could give him for all of us to be happy. I contacted Lily and signed up, then started the puppy program on the following Monday. Being greeted on Monday morning by Tina was one of the biggest reliefs of my life....and Buoy just layed at her feet like the most obedient dog ever! Was I dreaming? Not at all. Tina has a gift at dog training and Buoy could feel it and I could, too!!! Our new 'baby' spent the week at Dog Training Elite in Panama City, working with both Tina and Anthony, going on field trips, and by the end of the week, our little boy Buoy had some manners! They had familiarized him with the commands of sit, place, come, stay, lay, off, drop it. We sure use "off' a lot as he is still a puppy and needs to be reminded often. I'm not sure who learned the most, Buoy or me??? but I can tell you for sure that Dog Training Elite has changed our lives with a puppy here at home FOR THE BEST! Now they will be coming to our home for 3 visits as part of the program and then we will have some follow up classes. I highly recommend Dog Training Elite here in Panama City, Florida, for dogs of all ages, if they need to learn to behave.

Josh, our trainer, literally saved my dog's life. Rocco was scheduled to be put down due to severe aggression issues. I was devastated to say the least. Josh came out to our home, free of charge, and on the weekend I might to add, to evaluate and help determine if Rocco could possibly be trained. Josh's ability to help train both my dogs (he trained two of them) exceeded my expectations. Josh continually exhibited an incredible amount of patience and respect with us and the dogs during our training sessions. Josh actively listened to our needs and concerns and worked with them. Rocco has earned a "stay of execution " for now and this is all due to Josh's vast amount of experience and level of expertise he brings to the dog training sessions. We cannot express our gratitude enough to Josh for helping us navigate through this difficult situation with Rocco. Lily, my contact person, and Josh are both wonderful to work with. I would highly recommend Dog Training Elite for all of your dog training needs.

Having recently added a Standard Schnauzer to my family, I quickly realized it had been a long time since I had raised a puppy. My experience with Elite Dog Training has been fantastic and fun! I signed my little Schnauzer up for training with dog training elite and I am so thankful for doing it. Schnauzers can have a tendency of being a bully and he was starting to show those traits. They helped me get him under control. Plus, he is a happier puppy because he now has direction. Someone had referred me to Dog Training Elite and I am so happy for it. Thank you so much for helping my puppy. Another wonderful thing about this place is that it is owned in ran by a very kind, loving person that really loves dogs. Tina is always available to answer questions or concerns. Also, once they are done with training, you can do group training for life, Every week if you want. If you need help with a specific issue, just give them a call and they will help you with that even after training. This is not a place that trains and then drops you. They care and for the life of your puppy will be there to help. Best decision we have made with him.

Our almost 3 year old miniature schnauzer barked constantly when around other people and dogs. In addition, he had horrible impulse control. As a puppy we had attended training classes at a local pet store. Those classes centered around treat training, which is fine if you want to carry a bag of treats everywhere you go and constantly feed your dog. For us this was unsustainable. We signed up with Dog Training Elite and have seen amazing results! Anthony is wonderful with dogs and their owners! We can now take our Winston to stores and restaurants without issue (after only 6 in home sessions)! Thank you Dog Elite and Anthony!

We began the training with an energetic, reactive standard poodle somewhat skeptical about what could be accomplished in two weeks, but working with Anthony his behavior has totally changed for the better. Anthony has also worked with us to help us understand how to use the commands and corrections to benefit us and our dog. As a result, our dog walks calmly on a leash is much more confident and less anxious and nervous. We are all much happier because instead of leaving our dog behind, he is a joy to bring along anywhere we go. He is well behaved in crowded environments and around other dogs. He barks less at dogs and strangers and is much easier to control when we are out. We also now understand how to practice and reinforce these commands and behaviors to continue to help our dog improve. The tuition is significant, but worth every penny and I highly recommend this training and Anthony as trainer. 10 out of 10.

I've been pleasantly surprised with this training at Dog Training Elite Panama City. Professional, personalized and kind. I was leary putting my trust in with anyone regarding my pups. They have been through it as rescues. Both were deemed to not live through treatment, they did. They have my heart. Anthony couldn't have been more on point with them and me. He has years of service with dog training and it shows. The best part for me personally is his directness. Not a sugarcoat reasoning with him. He is clear to reason and approach. In just 2 weeks, both of the pups have learned so much. I can't wait to see them in 10 weeks.

Finding Tine Ruffin of Dog Training Elite of Panama City was the best answer to solving problems we faced with our two little dogs (one a puppy!). Our older dog was a runner and had gotten out multiple times ( I fell once trying to capture her with three other people trying to help corral her). In one session my problems on this issue were solved and I have been able to apply my training and get my runner to come to me and get her home when she gets loose! Potty issues, kennel training, anxiety issues and solving problems with walking our dogs are but a few of the other difficulties Tina has helped us master. We are in Pensacola so Tina does travel. I highly recommend Tina and her team!

We have a rescue pup who has some excitable anxiety. She was a leash puller and very excitable, making walks a chore instead of something fun. Deciding to go with one-on-one training was the best decision we made for her and us. Both Tina & Anthony have been amazing trainers. Skye can walk by most distractions now with minimal issues. Tina got Skye to the point where she was walking alongside her own dog! Anthony was able to get Skye to walk amazingly confidently through Home Depot. We were also able to have her walk mostly calm through PetSmart with all the other dogs. What a change, not only in Skye’s confidence, but mine as well! We are looking forward to the group classes!!

All of the employees at Dog Training Elite have been very helpful. Our puppy went through the Whole Den Puppy training at nine weeks old and then the Elite Training Camp when she was 5 ½ months old. They explained the training, both the concepts for the dog and how we should implement the reinforcement training at home. Our trainer, Anthony, has been especially helpful as he was a trainer in Military Working Dog Handler in the U.S Air Force for their German Shepherds and Belgian Malinowski. He was able to take our somewhat stubborn and disruptive German Shepherd puppy and turn her into a manageable, well trained dog. Recently, my grandson accompanied me and our puppy on a long walk that included a drawbridge with a grate in the middle, downtown Panama City, through construction with lots of noises from all the machinery and all sorts of other distractions. I’ll be honest…what an amazing group of people!!! I absolutely love them!!! I own a Siberian Husky…need I say more, lol!!! Wes is amazing, he is the only person that can actually teach my wild boy!!! Wes is patient and kind and honestly is the 3rd trainer locally that has attempted to teach him but the only one that he’ll listen too. Not only is he firm and confident but is very kind and my dog actually obeys him….and he’s actually taught me also!! Not always an easy task, lol!!! Now…usually it would be just about the trainer but not at Elite. The office admin is absolutely incredible!!! Lily is probably the best office person I’ve ever worked with!!! She has helped me more than I could ever say!!! She is the best asset a company could ever ask for!!! I have been 100% pleased with everything she’s helped me with!!! Excellent trainers, Tina, Wes are great, lots of patience and great training techniques. Sebastian is doing great. Group training is great——we alternate between Oaks By The Bay and Frank Brown Park. When the weather is not cooperating they have a very nice facility to work on group training.

This is such a wonderful group of knowledgeable people. They work hard to help you understand the requirements your baby needs to be successful. They set you and your dog up for success. Wes was our trainer. ( really, they are training you. Lol) He was always on time and very helpful. Lilly makes sure you know when, what and where things are happening. We enjoyed seeing them every during our training.

Wes is the dog whisperer with our 2 dachshunds (7 year old and 9 month old) so I know getting them trained is definitely a challenge. He is absolutely amazing!! Lilly has been great with working around our summer schedule and making sure all of our appointments get rebooked! Thank you both so much!!!! Our house is now a much quieter and happy home for our fur babies!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟 This was the best decision I ever made! I have always trained my own dogs and I like large to X L breeds. I adopted a dog (8 month old pup) sight unseen. Oh my she was so wild and she was actually seriously hurting me. All the training experience I had was back firing. It was play biting but it became very serious. I was crying all the time thinking what have I done! At one point I had to go to the ER because while I was walking her she saw a cat and I full body slammed into a telephone pole. (My last dog was an English Mastiff and this pup was kicking my butt). She even bit the hand of the owner of Elite when she came to evaluate her. After two to three home training sessions she became a different dog! Now that we are in group training it is just amazing! With the group class she is being socialized under the supervision of the team. So I get immediate answers on how to fix an issue she is having. Seriously the best decision I ever made. AND another trainer told me to get rid of the dog (black lab and standard poodle mix 50/50 mix) and call him when I get another mastiff! Wait what?! This pup was dumped with her gift ribbon 🎀 around her neck! A friend fostered to save her from going to the kill shelter and till she could find a home for her. Exactly how was I suppose to “get rid of her”! I didn’t want to fail this dog and give her problems to someone else. Thank you Elite for taking her on and wow 🤩 she’s an awesome dog now and we haven’t even finished her 13 week training! I am incredibly pleased and so are my friends! (She injured one of my friends the first week I had her and my friend left crying)! As I said I have never had difficulty training a dog, but this girl was a wild child seriously rough playing to the point she was jumping up trying to bite my face as “fun play”! Thank you so much to the staff of Elite! No more tears!

Best choice for dog training from Panama City to Pensacola. Tina and Wes are great to work with. I have seen them train dogs from my lab's size and bigger, down to little puppies. They can set you up with all the equipment you need. Honestly dog training is so fun and no longer a chore.

I am a counselor in Panama City and have always wanted to add a therapy dog into my practice. I got my pup in March and started training the next week. Dog Training Elite has been amazing every step of the way. My dog LOVES going to "school". I love that I know my dog is being trained for a special job and being trained very well. They do a pretty good job training ME too!!

Tina Ruffin
Owner & Trainer
A Florida native, Tina earned her MBA from Florida State University and worked 23 years in the public sector before becoming a Dog Training Elite franchise owner and trainer. She is passionate about helping people build a strong bond with their dog, whether through basic obedience training or specialized training programs. When she is not working, she enjoys outdoor adventures with her dogs, Siggy, Stella and Gus, and you can often find her kayaking along the coastline with Siggy.
Lily Sundeen
Administrative Assistant
Lily Sundeen has had a love for animals her entire life and knew she wanted to work with dogs at a very young age. She is the new mother of a very giggly boy named Theodore and also the fur-mom of 3 dogs: Sookie, Tucker, and Bruce. In her free time, she loves to swim in our local springs, hike our state parks, and spend time with her family. She is excited to help you and your fur-baby reach your training goals!

Trainer
Jared's interest and love for animals is rooted in his time living in Africa. Over the last several years, he has worked with a variety of animals ranging from domestic dogs and cats to exotic felines. Jared is always looking for opportunities to learn and expand his knowledge of animals. When he is not training dogs, he volunteers his free time working at a local wildcat sanctuary, makes cosplay costumes and builds watches. Jared also has an appreciation for quality coffee, particularly African, and enjoys drinking coffee at all times of the day.
Sunnee Leverett
Trainer
Sunnee has a love for all kinds of animals. She earned her vet assistant certification through a program offered at her high school alma mater and also completed 4 years of agriculture classes with animals. She is currently enrolled at Gulf Coast State College where she is working towards an AA in vet medicine. In addition to dog training with us, she also works full-time as a vet tech. Sunnee adopted her dog, Jinx, about a year ago and trained him to be a Therapy Dog.
