We contacted DTE shortly after my wife rescued a Senior special needs dog. The owner Craig responded to our inquiry right away and wanted to assure us they were there to help. Our sweet spaniel Jax was completely blind and mostly deaf. We discovered quickly he had never walked on a leash before and was understandably very anxious trying to get familiar with his new surroundings. I can’t say enough about how pleased we are with the training and positive results that was accomplished given Jaxs’ limitations. Craig has a very calming demeanor that dogs instinctively respond to and their humans do too! He was able to modify the usual training techniques to accommodate Jax given his circumstances. We can now enjoy walking in our neighborhood on a leash as well as sit/stay using a touch cue. I’ll also add that Jax is always happy to see Craig when he comes for “class” which I’ve shown in this picture!! I can wholeheartedly recommend DTE for any dog training needs.

Craig and Miriam are wonderful. They care about what they do and will go out of their way to make sure you always feel they are there to assist. Truly life changing work with these pups, I’m forever grateful.

We recently adopted a mixed breed dog from a local shelter who is heart-worm positive. Introducing him to our existing dog without causing him too much stress is proving to be harder than we thought it would be. Having contacted you guys was the best decision that I could have made for my Belgian Malinois pup. Craig is a great trainer, very friendly, also patient with our dog (mostly at the beginning). He is also very flexible with the in-home training schedules. Now we are in group classes and they are really helpful so that our dog can socialize with strangers and other dogs. I met Craig and Miriam last year and worked with them for several months. They were both extremely professional, communicated often and well, were kind and friendly, and were punctual. On the customer service side, they are a definite A+! Now onto the dog/training side of my review! I needed specific help with my Siberian Husky, so I hired them to help me achieve my training goals. I wanted to train her to loose leash walk on a flat collar or slip leash (get off her prong collar). This was a very challenging task for us to tackle as huskies LOVE to pull. I spent most of my time with Miriam doing 1:1 training, and she is fantastic!! Miriam knows a lot about working dogs, what drives them, and is familiar with the dramatic stubborn husky. She truly spent the time to get to know both of us to figure out the best way for me to teach my dog. Typical training methods were not working for us, so we got creative and developed unique games for my husky. Miriam really cares and wanted to help. She spent the time to watch my dogs behaviors, listen to what we were struggling with, and showed us not 1 but several methods! I learned that what worked yesterday, doesn't always work tomorrow. In my few months of working with Miriam and Craig, I was able to build up a large toolset of training tips to help me communicate better with my dog and we ultimately got her to pass all of her ACK-CGC Obedience exams! I definitely recommend Craig and Miriam for individualized 1:1 training! I will say this... no matter how amazing Craig and MIriam are, your dog's training will only be as good as the time YOU put into it! You also have to do the work.

In the short that with have been with dog elite, We have noticed a big difference in our dog’s obedience. He is still in the process of learning and we know that Craig can help to achieve success.

We decided to get our dogs trained because we noticed their reactivity toward other dogs was getting worse. We were always embarrassed when taking them places because it would mostly end in them barking and lunging at most dogs while on the leash as well as some people. We recently finished in home training with our dogs and have began group classes (which we have always been afraid to start due to their reactivity). After the in home trainings and a couple of group classes, we are now able to take our dogs out in public with way less reactivity. It’s still a work in progress but they have made so much improvement. We look forward to seeing their continued progress

Got a new dog. Shepard mix. I've had dogs all my life. Wasn't worried about training her myself. She became a handful to the point I was thinking of giving her up. With there help I was able to get the unacceptable behaviors under control and now she has a happy home. Me to.

Choosing Dog Training Elite North Orlando has been the best choice for my Maltese Rocco, Craig is a brilliant trainer, he treated us with patient, respect and always have the best example, guidance to get Rocco obedience. I am so happy to see improvement in sleeping I can say he can sleep all night. I recommend their training program it really worth it.

After our first in-home training from DTE we started to see better behavior from our 3-year-old mini Golden Doodle. After 2 visits our walks on or off leash are less distracted and stressful. Learning "place" at home is helping with craziness when visitors arrive. Our trainer, Craig, is friendly, kind and patient with our dog and the owners! We look forward to more learning in our group sessions.

When I was looking for a dog trainer to help with my 3 year old lab, I wanted to be trained to better help Nitro. Nitro would gleefully bolt out of the house and yard barking to greet anyone passing our house. Not a good thing when your dog is close to 90 pounds with a big voice. After just one week with Miriam, Nitro was stopping in the yard and returning when called. After 3 weeks we were visiting pet friendly stores, walking on heel, enjoying being out together. I am getting just what I wanted, I am being trained in how to train my dog. We are working together along side Craig and Meriam and I am joyous at the relationship that I am building with Nitro. Nitro actually asks me to train each day, he stands by his training collar and gives a whimper, when I pick it up his feet start a dance and his tail picks up speed. What more can you ask for! Thanks Craig and Meriam!!

I have a high-energy Jack Russell Terrier female that has always shown a natural empathy for people and who also is really a kind-hearted, sensitive dog. While she had already graduated from a basic obedience class as a puppy, I hired DTENO when she turned a year old to help train her as a service animal specifically to address PTSD. We dove right into intense, bi-weekly, one-on-one courses, including various group classes. I'm proud to say that with the critical education and guidance provided by Craig and Miriam, Harper quickly passed her Public Access Training qualifications within four months and had her specific service tasks down within that same timeframe. When you have an intelligent dog and are committed to doing the homework in their specific program (you have to do the homework!), the results can be incredible. I give DTENO an enthusiastic 5 stars for their service, responsiveness, and training expertise. Plus, Craig and Miriam are two warm and empathetic people which helps immensely during the training process (because the human has to be trained, too). Harper has flown with us now; she's excelled in public spaces (including at a zoo, the US Capitol, & the madness of an airport!); and is still the fun-loving, joyful, sweet dog we love so much.
