Mobility Service Dog in Essex County, MA

A mobility support dog can greatly enhance an individual's independence and quality of life. These service dogs assist with tasks that may be impossible or difficult for their handler to perform alone. A trained brace and mobility service dog can accompany their handler anywhere and is specifically trained to meet their mobility needs.

Tasks can include assistance with standing, transferring positions, providing stability, retrieving dropped items, fetching medication or specific objects, offering ambulatory support, recognizing and responding to emergencies, alerting others in both home and public settings, pulling a wheelchair for short distances, opening and closing doors, and providing emotional support.

Mobility support dogs not only increase independence but also provide stability, safety, and peace of mind, allowing for more active and fulfilling lives. Dog Training Elite North Shore offers a highly successful mobility service dog training program, tailored to the handler's specific needs and inclusive of their family. By training mobility service dogs in the owner's home, we foster stronger bonds and more lasting results, creating a positive working relationship between the handler and their dog.

If you're seeking a mobility service dog in Essex County, MA, Dog Training Elite is here to help.

About Mobility Support Dogs

Most brace and mobility support dogs wear a specially designed harness that allows both the dog and handler to safely and securely work together to provide stable ambulation. Those who could benefit from a service dog specifically trained in brace and mobility support include:

Those with vertigo and balance disorders often experience dizziness and instability when walking. A mobility and brace support dog can help orient, ground, and stabilize their handler during movement.
Physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy, MS, spina bifida, or back injuries can cause irregularities in balance, gait, stability, and ambulation. Mobility support dogs provide stability and counterbalance, enabling their handlers to walk more safely with assistance.
Certain medications or disabilities can impair alertness and the ability to safely walk or respond to emergencies. A service dog can be trained to guide a disoriented handler through daily activities and assist during emergency situations.
Those prone to health risks that cause unconsciousness can benefit from a service dog trained to retrieve help, call emergency services using a specialized phone, and reposition the handler if they are unable to breathe.
Conditions like muscle dystrophy, strokes, and other ailments can diminish strength, coordination, and stability, making it difficult to perform simple tasks like opening drawers or reaching light switches. A mobility service dog can assist with these daily tasks, providing invaluable support to those with diminished mobility.

Dog Training Elite is awesome! The trainers are super friendly and really know what they’re doing. My dog listened better after just a few sessions, and they showed me how to keep the training going at home. I’m really happy with the results and would definitely recommend Dog Training Elite to anyone who wants a well-behaved dog.

Marcus from dog elite training is amazing. He loves his job and what he does and that shows. We are currently training my young daughters diabetic alert dog an he does a great job including her and letting her be the one working the dog. We are so happy to be working with Marcus and can’t wait to see the end results with our dog.

Marcus came out and showed us different things to help, went over so much in detail. Definitely makes me want to get on board with the training for layla. He made sure we had no questions or anything. Was very soft spoken and patient with her as she didn’t want anything. Was very gentle with her and for her to be comfortable with anyone that fast says a lot.
