Goldendoodles, the offspring of a poodle and a golden retriever, make great family dogs. They have the intelligence and sensitivity of poodles and the energy and loving nature of golden retrievers. Their intelligence and desire to please makes Goldendoodle dog training in Nashville fun and straightforward. At Dog Training Elite, we implement positive reinforcement training, which is perfect for Goldendoodles.

Although our training programs work for any dog and breed, we recognize that every dog is different and has different needs. We've rounded up some tips for training Goldendoodles to help you with your new furry friend. Goldendoodle Training Tips Start Young

The best time to start training your Goldendoodle is from day one! If you bring your new four-legged family member home as a puppy, we recommend you start Goldendoodle dog training as soon as possible. Puppies are eager to learn and please, so starting commands from a young age will build a firm foundation for more training as they grow.

We offer training programs for puppies as young as eight weeks. But don't worry if you start training with your Goldendoodle later in life. Our tried–and–true Dog Training Elite training programs work for dogs of any age.

Goldendoodle Training Tips Begin with Simple Commands

The best way to start training—whether as a puppy or a grown dog—is with simple commands. Starting with simple and easy–to–understand commands will build confidence and trust with your dog. This is essential with a sensitive dog like a goldendoodle. We suggest starting with commands like “sit,” “stay,” “down,” and “come” Once you and your pup have these commands down, it will be easier for both of you to move on to more complex and fun commands.

Goldendoodle Training Tips Work on Eliminating Unwanted Behaviors

Although Goldendoodles have many desirable traits, a few undesirable behaviors are associated with them. The behaviors that we often see are trouble with house training, jumping, and barking. Once you have developed a good training foundation with simple commands, you can start working on eliminating unwanted behaviors.

Our trainers can work with you and your Goldendoodle to solve specific behavioral problems. Using our balanced training theory focusing on positive reinforcement, we can eliminate unwanted behavior without using force, raised voices, or discipline.

Goldendoodle Training Tips Socialize

Goldendoodles are very interactive and energetic animals, so socializing them with other dogs is essential to ensuring they are well behaved. Starting socialization at a young age is beneficial, but it can be accomplished at any age. Dog Training Elite offers group obedience classes, which are a great way to continue Goldendoodle dog training while socializing your dog in a safe environment.

Goldendoodle Training Tips Stay Consistent

Most goldendoodles are relatively easy to train, but staying consistent is essential. When training any dog, you must show your dog that you expect a specific behavior to happen every time. In return, show your dog that you will be consistent with teaching and responding to incorrect behaviors. Staying consistent during your goldendoodle dog training will help your pup learn correct behavior quickly.

Goldendoodle Training Tips Be Patient

One of the most important things to remember when training your Goldendoodle is to be patient. Training a puppy or teaching an older dog new commands can be challenging and take some time. Have patience with your dog and yourself, and you will be successful!

Stick with a Program for Goldendoodle Dog Training in Nashville

Our Balanced Theory

We base our training around the "Classical Conditioning" model (a.k.a. "Pavlovian" or "respondent conditioning"). This includes developing conditioned or automatic reflexes to commands. In its simplest form (after proper conditioning), when the owner says "sit," the dog automatically sits without thinking about it. Our unique techniques ensure our program is a success no matter what behavior we encounter.

Dog Training Elite Central Nashville is the top company near you that uses professional positive dog training methods.

What a difference a well behaved dog is to take in public areas! Thanks to Dog Training Elite my 3 year old Cavapoo heels and does not tug on leash, lays quietly under table without begging for food, greets people at my command on all four paws no more jumping on visitors. I would suggest if you are dealing with behavior problems and need an obedient dog then grab your dog and leash and RUN DON't WALK to your first training session with Dog Elite Training. You and your dog will not be disappointed!!

Parker’s training saved my dog’s life. I feel very comfortable with him again and he does commands that I never thought I would be able to get him to do. Highly recommend and worth every penny.

I am so so grateful for all of the trainers at Dog Training Elite. My dog, Penny, started puppy training around 12 weeks, and started Service Animal training at 6 months. I cannot even imagine having trained her to do everything without the trainers at DTE. She's an 11 months old German Shepherd and she's impressively well-behaved. A couple weeks ago, she passed her Public Access Test, and now she's starting Task Training. The best part of all this is that she and I got to do it together, thanks to guidance and tools from the trainers. It may seem expensive, or inexpensive depending on your presumptions, but this is the best possible place to get your companion trained.

After just a few sessions of training I was able to take my Laszlo to our local dog park on my lunch break or before a meeting, due to finally being able to recall him and leave the dog park rather than embarrassingly chasing him or bribing him. The trust built between us now after learning and practicing basic commands is priceless. We both look forward to the weekly group sessions.

I cannot express how grateful we are to have used Dog Training Elite Nashville. From day one of training with Izabel, Sam, our Border Terrier, has been learning so quickly. She evaluated Sam’s strengths and weaknesses along with me and my husband to find the best way to train all of us. We can take our dog anywhere in any situation and he’s extremely well behaved.

Izabel is such a wonderful trainer! My fur baby Toothless would just get overly excited and with her help she really was able to give us both some calmness and a better understanding of each other! He’s a pitbull mix and although I love breed I haven’t owned one myself so I’m thankful for her skills and education with us both! Thank you Izabel!

Our cockapoo has grown so much with dog training elite. Barley needed some commands to keep him safe when off leash. Our trainer helped him know all the commands and allowed my husband and I to feel safe with him while outside the house. He knows when to come, knows what to stay off of, and is a much safer dog being trained by dog training elite!
