When my son was diagnosed with diabetes in February, I did some research on training a dog to becoming service Dog and found DTE. Tonya came and assessed our two year-old goldendoodle and we discovered she was the perfect candidate to be a service dog. The tools she gave us helped build the foundation and with our at-home work, she took off running and loves to work! Tonya really knows her stuff! She took my mostly well-behaved goldendoodle and shaped her into the most vital member of our family. Tonya and Zach taught me how to get my aggressively biting, barking, out of control chihuahua into a sweet friendly obedient boy! And soooo fast! He can come to work, go in public, have visitors in the house, and I don’t have to worry about people being in danger. I can even get him to stop barking with his pack at the door or fence! I didn’t think this was at all possible and am so very grateful for their patience and knowledge! Strongly recommend!

My 1 year old Lagotto Romagnolo pup just completed his three-week obedience and service dog training camp. When he was about 4 months, I had met with Dog Training Elite, amongst many other training facilities in order to do my due diligence and make sure it was the right fit. My biggest mistake in having my dog trained was not immediately signing up with Dog Training Elite after their first meeting with me! Luckily, I circled back with them a few months later to set up training, and it was the best investment I have made in my pup! Team: The team is absolutely wonderful, and I can tell they really value and care about my goals with my pup. They are not only there to train him, but to help him build his confidence in and out of public settings. Something that stood out to me about DTE is that having met with several other facilities, the DTE team treated my pup the way I like him to be treated. Some facilities told me that the cutesy talk with your dog is wrong, and cuddling and playing with the dog too much will make him think the owner is soft and not in control. At DTE, they were SO loving with my pup, and even have one of their employees as a "Chief Enrichment Officer" to play with the pups throughout the school day. I LOVED this about the team, and this is a lot of the reason I believe my pup would always wag his tail when we would pull up to training at the facility :) Oh, not to mention, they bought him toys during some of their public access days. Training: My dog is completely different after 3 weeks, and I mean that in the best way possible. One of my hesitations and worries in having my dog service dog trained was that he would be trined so well, that he would not act like the happy-go-lucky dog he is, and instead always be "on" and working and stoic. Not the case at all! He is just super obedient and respectful of boundaries, and when it is time to heel, and sit and place, he knows exactly what to do. He has more respect for me as his owner, and this training has actually STRENGTHENED our relationship, and so I could not be more grateful. After just 3 weeks of training, we walked around Home Depot together for about 25 minutes with him being off-leash. I would never have thought he would be doing that this soon after training! Facility: I was 90% sure after DTE came to my house for a consultation for the first time that I would want to sign up with them. I asked for a tour of their facility, and literally, I took a few steps inside, and knew that 90% would now be 100%. The first thing I noticed was the silence (no craziness of tons of dogs barking, which was common at other facilities). Next, there were about 6 dogs in the front room, all separated and back-tied on a leash to the wall and on their beds. They all looked at me like perfect little obedient students, and were not distracted by me or my dog at all. Everything is very clean and organized, and it is just a very bright and open facility. I felt very good about having my pup there for training. Cost: Worth every penny. I highly recommend the Dog Training Elite Suncoast team if you are thinking about getting your pup trained!

We started working with Tonya at Dog Training Elite (Platinum Package) right from day one when we brought home our Doodle puppy named Theodore. Training a puppy (especially with 2 kids in the house) is not an easy task. Tonya was there every step of the way, reassuring and guiding us. She was always available if we had questions or concerns. At the beginning there were times when we felt overwhelmed and frustrated by the puppy energy and behaviors but with Tonya's guidance we stayed consistent and trusted in her process. After the first few puppy sessions we started to see a transformation unfold. Fast forward to today, at 6 months old Theo is a great canine companion. He is happy, obedient, engaged, well mannered. When we go for walks people often comment on how well behaved he is, and are even more surprised when I say he is only 6 months old! There are still some areas that need work, but overall we have seen a big change and are astonished at how far he has come under her close guidance. We continue to work with Tonya to build on the strong foundation. I would highly recommend Dog Training Elite as soon as possible to start the journey with your dog!

Very impressed with Dog Training Elite… they sent Aaron to work with me and my 7 month old Doberman puppy. The strides Prince has made in his obedience is incredible… he quickly was able to pick up skills like recall, down, heel, place to name a few. Aaron and Kim worked closely with my boxer puppy, Rocky. They helped me teach him important skills so that Rocky is obedient. I have seen amazing results through following their program, in home sessions, and group sessions. They are very firm and consistent and train you so that you can support your dog daily. Rocky learned the sit, down, and place commands within his first few months of training. I am most grateful for their support with teaching Rocky to heel, especially off leash. Rocky walks next to me consistently, even when off leash, when given the command. They are very skilled and knowledgeable about dog training and behavior. When i brought home my first Doberman I was working all the time and didn’t really do the training required to unlock all the potential of this breed. Jetta was a great family dog but this time I wanted to do things different. I contacted Dog Training Elite, talked to Tonya and purchased the Puppy Platinum Package. I knew if i was going to start using an E Collar I wanted it done professionally. Honestly, I was a little apprehensive about using the E Collar and it really takes some getting used to. I started training Kara as early as possible and Tonya ensured me that it would make our bond stronger and it did. Kara is a calm, confident girl and she goes everywhere with me and I mean everywhere. She knows when the collar comes out she is in for some off leash fun by the lake, beach, or going for a hike in the woods. We do a 5k and she is by my side (on leash). When we go to restaurants she is by my side. She is currently enrolled in Agility classes and the obedience classes made starting agility so much easier. With the Platinum Package i have unlimited training in the park every other Saturday and i always try to make it. We always learn something new, reinforce the basics, and I get to spend Saturday mornings with some really nice people.

I needed help with my toy poodle he was always barking and trying to bite people. Now he loves people. Couldn't take him anywhere .now he loves to go to the park and every time we go to a class. Wow I found this trainer by luck. Now I say it was destiny. There was no mistake. I wanted to get a dog I didn’t own yet trained but I had certain criteria that had to be met. I wanted a service dog for PTSD but the trainer had to be a female. Kim had no hesitation for my request. After about 5 sessions kim asked if she could bring her son as Queso did t want to heal. I have to say I trust Aaron as much as Kim. If you need your dog trained this is the company to go with. A+ service.

Training starts at home on our time with a trainer. Then, group training helps to practice the skills which is a good repetitive training provided by professionals.

My daughter and I adopted Claude (115 lb Cane Corso) a year ago. He was so well behaved at first but about 3 months ago started with some bad manners and behaviors that we couldn't get under control. After working with Tanya for only a few lessons, he's turning back into the boy we remember. He's shown how much he wants to please us and we're learning how to get him to be the best dog ever. He is so worth it and I couldn't be happier with this program!!

I have been consistently using Dog Training Elite for almost a year. I adopted a 6 yr old pitbull and he was a bit out of control when he got home due to being a street dog. He is extremely predictable and easy to walk since we started and he follows all commands even if the tools are not involved. He still keeps up with what he has learned during the group classes and has even learned a new skill or two. I have recommended them to several people in my neighborhood who have seen the drastic change in my pup and a few even signed up and THEY are having a great experience! Tonya, Luis, and Marissa have been amazing!

Marissa and Tonya are life savers, literally. Our pit mix puppy was really not getting along with our older dog and struggling with guarding, to the point we were afraid we were going to have to surrender him. Being a fearful pit mix, that is rolling the dice and we love him. He’s family. They were able to train them and teach us how to get them to coexist. It’s amazing how supportive and loving they are; both dogs get excited when either of them came… well for pets, compliments, and treats. Their expertise is vast and they even sent follow up videos and articles to further our knowledge. Plus individual and group classes! Marissa is great with helping us learn how to manage our high energy dog, Sam. He is scared of new people, bounces off furniture and never settles, especially when nervous. After each in home training session with Marissa, Sam's behavior improved; not a little, but huge improvements. You can tell Sam is happier now as he knows what is expected of him and his anxiety is almost gone. He is still scared meeting new people, but calms down quickly and is their new best friend in a few minutes. He will stay in place when he is told for as long as we ask of him, no more constant pacing. As a 1 year old puppy, Sam is still learning, but with the techniques Marissa taught us; he is well on his way to being a well mannered and happy adult dog. I highly recommend, Marissa and Dog Training Elite. We couldn't be happier with the results.

Trained my service dog with this group and had an amazing experience. They tailored training to my type of dog being small and non traditional for service dog but for my PTSD he is perfect. Encouraged both trainer and dog to be consistent. Group classes are great and the program i chose has lifetime support so if he starts a behavior or i need additional training they will be on board. Harley met his training within 1 yr with is astounding. We BOTH focused on each other and the needs he would serve and this training company was amazing to work with.

I reached out to Tonya to help me train a service dog for my son with Autism. When we started the platinum obedience training, our mini bernedoodle was about 6 months old. Tonya was amazing through this process and included our son in the training at every step. Once our pup graduated the obedience training we added the service training tasks. She took the time to talk with us and make the best decisions as to which specific tasks would be most helpful for our son. These tasks included deep pressure therapy, crowd control and blocking. Tonya always provides clear instructions during the appointment and exactly what to work on each day until the next visit. The training she provided along with lots of practice and hard work in between visits has allowed our mini bernedoodle to become a service dog which has made a huge positive impact on our son. Finnley is training to be a service dog for me personally and to help with my senior customers. We started with a At Home training classes and then moved to Group classes. The public park group classes where there are distractions have proven beneficial and enjoyable for him and I. The training at the airport was amazing, preparing him so that he will be able to travel with me. I have mentioned to Kim that I was struggling with him listening when the Grandchildren and are over, Kim quickly said let’s schedule a date for me to come over and have the grandkids there. Identifying problems and actually working with you Is one of the best parts of working with this team. I look forward to continuing to work with Kim and the team as Finnley progresses.

I am so grateful to Elite Suncoast Dog Training for changing my relationship with my dog, Sunny. I came to them with a very leash-reactive dog. Walks were stressful ~ I would scan the block ahead looking for other dogs ~ I would pivot and turn around when I saw them: I even started driving to Glencliff or Baybridge Park to avoid my neighborhood, with its close houses and small yards. The first transformation came when Aaron evaluated and demonstrated to me that my dog had a strong protective drive (there is a positive side to his leash reactivity). The second transformation was in taking the group classes and seeing how capable Sunny was in following my direction in close proximity to other dogs. It has given me confidence in my abilities to command the situation with other dogs. Sunny is not cured of his reactivity, but it has diminished it, to the point where I don’t feel completely embarrassed and discouraged in taking walks with him again. Amazing experience! I was so excited to have a professional trainer to help and these guys don’t disappoint!! Copper is now an official therapy dog and he loves his work! I so appreciate the time the trainers took with Copper to understand him and the best ways for us to communicate! With daily training and hard work, we have been able to gain confidence in him and feel more comfortable in public places. We reached out to Dog Training Elite when our golden was about 3 months old. He was jumping over everything, peeing when he would encountered new people and trying to eat anything he could get his mouth on. The trainers were so helpful with their suggestions and we really felt like our concerns were addressed. After 6 weeks of one on one training, we have seen a huge improvement in his behavior at home and we have the tools to correct any unwanted behavior and we are really able to see his potential and know how to motivate him. Both myself and Yoshi (1 year old German Shepherd) have had the most wonderful experience with Dog Training Elite. Marissa was our trainer and we couldn’t have picked anyone better for the task! Yoshi went from just about dislocating our arms from pulling on his leash, being terrified of other people, not listening at all, potty in the house on purpose, you name it. Marissa worked perfectly with him showing the ins and outs of the e-collar. Now here we are 2 months later and he’s a perfect gentleman, walks perfect at my side and is able to go places with us. We just moved to Tampa in an apartment complex and my 2 year old Hamilton became reactive and anxious. After 5 lessons I have a totally different fur baby. Ryan, Kimberly and Aaron are the best. I can now walk Hamilton in our complex with no reaction to other dogs and people.

I am very happy with my experience with Dog Training Elite Suncoast. The training tools have helped us get a difficult and at times dangerous situation with multiple large dogs under control. The team are always willing to listen and offer advice, they even helped us when it became clear one of our dogs needed to be rehomed for safety reasons. She is now living her best life and is very happy! Our other dogs have responded so well the training and love the group classes. We are extremely grateful to Luis and Tonya. Our puppy's behavior is totally different. From the first classes the improvement of our dog (Niko) was noticed. They have been very attentive and have answered each of our questions. Thanks to them today we have our service dog. Totally recommended! Niko loves them and always enjoys the group classes.

Due to rapid decline of health, getting a service dog through standard means (2-3 year process) wasn’t an option. I found a dog I thought could be trained but had trouble finding a trainer willing or able to help. She came out to the house within days and started the training journey for/with us. We’ve been with DTE for about 7 months now for our Doberman, Bruce. For anyone that knows how stubborn a Doberman puppy can be knows just how challenging it can be to train him, especially with the very little knowledge we had. That’s where Dog Training Elite came in. They’ve been with us from the start, and any question or concern we have they make it known that they are always one text or call away. Over the course of training Bruce, his attitude has changed, or he's gotten used to one method of training, and where we get stuck, is where DTE comes in and helps us overcome these new challenges my wife and I face with Bruce. Long story short they’ve been great trainers to us, and have became great friends to us all, at our weekly group sessions. I would recommend them to anyone with any dog. At training we’ve seen people with giant Great Danes, to small chihuahuas, and even with the very diverse breeds they encounter they might change the way they train some dogs, but it all leads to the same goal, a well trained dog, and trained puppy parents. My dog was a handful for me and I had no clue what to do I saw a tire cover with there phone number advertised on it! so I looked them up and liked what I saw. So I gave them a chance and I’m glad I did. Aaron had my dog listening immediately on day one like it was my dogs job to listen to him lol now my boy walks on leash most what perfect ignoring other dogs and people. I call him he comes! I am very proud of the fact my 7 year old nephew can work him!!!

First a little background.... I have this sweet, very active, energy plus Staffordshire Terrier that was my daughter's. She became very ill and couldn't handle him. I am 83 and couldn't handle him, also. I decided I needed to rehome his ad it was not fair to keep him where he was getting no exercise and little attention. We were unsuccessful in finding someone (truthfully, I was very picky and down deep didn't want to let him go). I decided to look for training and hopefully, keep him. This is where ELITE comes to the rescue! I was impressed with them right away. They are professional, friendly, animal lovers. Ryan came to interview TAZ and me and brought one of his own babies to show how little time it takes just get them understanding the basics. He even worked with TAZ for a short while and was impressed at how quickly he responded. We have had 4 sessions, and I am so impressed and proud of my boy! I decided to enlist some trainers, with my great Dane puppy, Moon Pie. I chose Elite after meeting with them because I found them to be both professional and knowledgeable. I thought they could teach me how to train my dog properly and when you’re dealing with a dog that will eventually outweigh you, training is a great idea. I can’t say enough good things about these folks. I have been with them for about five months now and definitely see a difference in the puppy. You have to do the work after the lessons, but it’s so worthwhile. I’m really loving the group classes too because training outside of your home is essential to having a great dog. I highly recommend these folks.

We have a very wild maltipoo who couldn’t walk on a leash and would run out the front door. She had flunked out of 4 training schools. Not to mention the barking and playing catch me if you can game. Since having Aaron and Ryan come and train her (me). She has calmed down and actually likes the special collar DTE uses. She’ll come and sit while I put it on. She likes to practice the training exercises we do and it tires her out. We are very happy so far.

We highly recommend Dog Training Elite! Our 5 month old puppy learned so much over the 5 weeks of in home training and continues to learn at the Group Distractions Training on Saturdays. Kim, Ryan, Aaron and the entire DTE training family are professional, compassionate, hands on and love what they do for you and your lovely pet. My puppy was able to learn all the commands during the one on one trainings and did a great job at home after the trainers were gone. The more we worked with her and had fun training, the more disciplined and consistent she became with commands. DTE is worth every penny on the investment and peace of mind. Tanya is very skilled in her profession! She had my Bully Dog obeying her commands within 20 minutes! My dog had a problem with jumping with excitement when I received a visitor. She is 70 pounds and her action was painful and annoying. Thanks to DOG TRAINING ELITE, that behavior has stopped.

Tonya is an excellent training instructor. She has the patience needed to deal this old guy and also our now 7 month old Mayley. Tonya has always been on time for our training sessions, which are done at our home whether it be done inside or out in the yard. Another plus is the Saturday sessions at a local park where Marley can socialize with other dogs in attendance. There are plenty of distractions be they other dogs being walked or very young toddlers wanting to pet our puppy. Marley still has her moments but she is still a young pup after all. I highly recommend Dog Training Elite. You will not be disappointed.

100% recommend! I hired Dog Training Elite Greater Tampa for my Cane Corso puppy and he is an angel now. The training is tailored to the owner and the pup. It is kept simplistic and tools you can use over and over again. My issue with finding a company was that I could not go to places in the early evening/late morning during the weekday. Tonya and Luis come to your house which is really a force multiplier when training your dog in their own home. If you need your dog trained, this is the place to go.

Wow! I can’t say enough about Tonya and Dog Training Elite - Greater Tampa. I was no stranger to training dogs, but my current dog, Scarlett, can be very head strong. She loves people and has no impulse control. She pulled on her lease when walking and rushed the door for visitors. I could tell she knew and understood my commands, but she decided when to follow them. It was a frustrating situation, and I was becoming impatient with Scarlett which was not good for either of us. Tonya to the rescue!! Tonya is extremely patient (with me and Scarlett) and seemed to know exactly what we both needed to get us over our impasse. You can tell Tonya really cares about both her human and dog students. We both had a great experience and Scarlett absolutely loves her. Good afternoon and Happy Sunday! I hope you all have had a great day. I just wanted to share that Mars is doing very good on his training just on two sessions. As a responsible dog owner and following my requirements of at least 15 minutes a day. I have a new dog. At night and during the day when he’s off training mode. He’s without his harness and collar. He still follows commands and just needs a little reinforcement here and there. He’s not the barker anymore 😂 When my other dog Reese’s barks at something he hears. Mars goes and checks at what he’s barking at and comes right back to me. It’s sad to even think that I was planning to rehome him.

Tonya has helped our dog so much! Being an aussiedoodle she has a lot of energy and can be stubborn. I first started looking for training for my puppy because I want him to eventually become a service dog. The training he’s been given has not only improved his behavior, but it’s also given me the tools I need to practice and train with him on my own. My puppy went from not listening and going potty in the house, to behaving even when I’m not giving commands. I was so worried that I wouldn’t be able to handle my new dog, and this service gave me confidence that he could become a well behaved pup.

These words are not enough to thank Tonya for what she did with our beloved Sheepadoodle Teddy! She started teaching him the basics (sit, off, stay, place, heel, down) and being so smart that helped us to teach him a few extra commands like "paw", "watch". "high five". Teddy is a lovable puppy but has TONS of energy which gives him frequent "zoomies" or burst of enthusiastic desire to play, run, and jump over us and being big and heavy, by accident tends to push or pulls us really hard. Tonya has been able to teach him (and us!) to manage these bursts of energy and he is way calmer than before (and at the moment I'm writing this he is still a 8-month old BIG and HEAVY puppy (a bit over 60 lbs). THANKS TONYA for your continuous help, for being so caring and dedicated for your job. She is a natural animal lover so she does her job with that in mind: LOVE. THANK YOU!!

Ryan and Kim offer the best in dog obedience training! Our little Boston Terrier Rue was suffering from intense separation anxiety and was assessed by Ryan and Kim as perhaps the most stubborn girl they had ever met. She was about one and half years old when we got started with the process and we definitely made progress. About two months into the training she began to be very reactive to other dogs and became a little aggressive. Dog Training Elite's entire staff shifted the strategy and went above and beyond with a personal commitment to success. Rue is now a much calmer, happier dog we are very satisfied with the way she has developed.

Dog training elite has been key to Nala’s training journey. It helped me to connect and understand her behaviors and how to properly train her for the long run. Kim and Ryan were amazing with our Pitbull who was protective of me even at the expense of my wife, kids and visitors. Within a couple of sessions our dog was sitting, heeling, laying down, placing and obey our commands. It has brought us all much relief and enjoyment with our dog Radley! Thank you Kim and Ryan.

We have had no issues and continue to go to trainings as much as possible. Each member of the team is knowledgeable and patient with every dog.

This Training has been such a positive experience for both myself, and my 4yo Newfoundland Cole. The trainers are positive in all their direction,and also take the time to laugh at some of Cole's silly antics. They are also great at communication such as answering any questions when "not" in training class. Cole has made great progress with their program. I priced and met with other trainers prior to selecting Elite, and they were the most professional and give you the most 'bang for your buck '. I would not hesitate to recommend Elite to anyone.

I’ve known Tonya for over 10 years as both a hard worker and a great friend. I also know her love of animals is just never-ending. I live 2 hours away by plane but am planning on bringing my rescue dog to her & Luis for training - for both my dog & myself!!

My wife and I picked up a rescue Dutch shepherd and got him right into the obedience training with DTE West Tampa. He has quickly picked up everything and loves doing it! Having owned 3 other Dutch shepherds growing up, the difference is night and day between Kai(our new pup) and our previous dogs which weren't trained by DTE. We will train all of our dogs through them in the future as well and couldn't recommend them enough!

My new puppy learned so many skills using this program, more rapidly than I ever dreamed. We can easily walk him off leash and he heels, regardless of rabbits and lizards and other dogs distracting him, and he also knows more "advanced" things like long distance recall. He's the first dog I've ever had and seriously I am impressed with how quickly DTE has trained him. Would definitely recommend this program!
