Our training method is based on classical conditioning which utilizes positive reinforcement to develop automatic reflexes to certain commands. We also use a safe, non-shocking electronic collar to ensure full attention of your k9 during training sessions. The electronic collar does not shock your k9; it gently vibrates when necessary to regain your dog’s attention. These positive techniques ensure easy training success, a happy relationship with your pet, and positive k9 behavior.
For basic obedience training, we start with in-home training. This allows us to involve all family members in the training process and to address all of your dog’s behavior. Some behaviors occur only in your home - like chasing the cat or mail man. By training in-home, our trainers can observe your k9 in his natural habitat. Once basic commands are covered, your k9 can graduate to group classes where he can learn to remain obedient despite the distraction of strangers and other dogs. This step by step process ensures deep-rooted training.

We base our training around the "Classical Conditioning" model (a.k.a. "Pavlovian" or "respondent conditioning"). This includes developing conditioned or automatic reflexes to commands. If you are wanting a trainer, I highly recommend Nikki Hynes. I have seen her transform dogs from skittish and fearful to bold and beautiful. A few of her own dogs have gone from shrinking violet rescue animals to NATIONAL level citizens. No dogs want to live in fear. She is a great pack leader that brings them out of their shell and shows them a better way. Nikki Hyne is an experienced, professional dog trainer who loves dogs. Her ability to pinpoint behavior problems, personalities, dog signals and interactions is spot on.
