Chuck was born in the St. Louis area before moving to Indiana where he met his wife and started a family; he eventually made his way to Kansas City where he now resides.
Chuck grew up with pets and always felt that they brought a family closer together. He also owned his own photography business in college before transferring into the IT world where he worked as a developer and project manager for over 30 years. After losing his job due to downsizing, he needed a change and was introduced to Dog Training Elite. He loved the way they trained highly obedient dogs as well as their important work with the Malinois Foundation.
When not working, you can find Chuck fishing, working with the Knights of Columbus, or spending time outside with his dog, Sir Isaac Newton, a Husky / German Shepherd mix.
Cat has lived in the Kansas City area her whole life. To her, dogs are family members, not pets. Cat states that she has always enjoyed the idea of helping families create a stronger bond with their fur babies.
From a young age, Cat always thought she would be a K-9 handler and trainer. She recalls, "my best friend wanted to be a doctor, but I always wanted to work with dogs—especially training."
In her free time, you can find Cat shooting photography, hiking, writing, and spending time outdoors. Her own fur baby is an adorable Black Lab / Saint Bernard mix named Ygritte.
Blaire Borchert is a Lee’s Summit high school student and is a junior apprentice and dog walker for DTE - KC South. Since she was a toddler, Blaire has had a passion for all animals and at one time thought she might become a bug specialist. As she grew older she was drawn to the loveable, more cuddly nature of dogs.
Blaire’s current companion is a Shepherd mix named Del. When she is not out walking dogs, she is curled up on the couch with Del binging Grey’s Anatomy, House, or Scrubs. One day she hopes to combine her fascination with medical care and her love for canines to become a veterinarian.
I've lived in Kansas City my entire life and grew up on a little family farm helping with cattle and other critters. I've never had a time in my life when my family didn't have at least one, if not more, dogs around. I have always had a k9 best friend. I love seeing the change in dogs and owners as their relationships get stronger. I spent two years working at a Vet clinic as a vet assistant/kennel tech and worked with many breeds of dogs there with varying temperaments. I wanted to be a trainer to help make a difference in the dog's life and people's lives.
When not at work I enjoy spending time with my dog and my horses working with them and spending time with friends and family doing outdoor and indoor activities.
Kaylee grew up in the Kansas City area, has lived in Olathe, Gladstone, Lenexa, Overland Park, and Prairie Village, and now resides in Kansas City, Kansas. Throughout high school and college, she dreamed of working with plants. After 10 years in the industry, she realized plants don't show emotion back. But pets DO. After going through the program herself with her service dog, Olivia, she learned she loved not only working with dogs but educating the owners as well.
When not working you can find Kaylee doing a variety of things including crafting, sewing, photography, gardening, and our personal favorite: Kayaking with her pup Olivia.
