We have a 10 month old English Setter. We have had 5 sessions with Justin so far and it has been an amazing experience. We have learned so much and our dog Penny has too! We did our first lesson out in public yesterday and I was so nervous but Justin met me at the store and took control of her because he knew I was nervous and she did great! I feel much more confident in my own ability to handle her in public now which will open up so many possibilities for us to travel with her and experience new things. I HIGHLY recommend Justin and his crew! We did another week long board and train program and it just wasn’t effective but having Justin come and train us all in our environment has been a game changer for us. Justin also brings his dogs to help socialize and train and offers group classes on weekends too!

After being n vacation for 10 days I was pleasantly surprised by how well our boys are doing. We were in FL and the boys were very stimulated by the crowds and noises at Universal Studios. We had compliments as to how well behaved they were. Today they learned a new skill (closing draws and doors). They were very proud of themselves!

After trying two other dog training companies that delivered zero results, I finally found the solution with Elite Dog Training—and what a difference. I had the pleasure of having Justin as my dog trainer. His patience and demeanor were especially helpful since I have a tendency to be too forgiving to my , at the time training started, 9 month old female Cavashon named Katie Belle. While learning to use the Ecollar, it was a bit intimidating at first. Justin demonstrated it was truly harmless and it actually heightened my dogs’ exceptionally short attention span into a much better awareness in learning those new commands that she needed to learn. It was ground breaking to see when I remained vigilant with my commands, she learned!! And when I say needed, this training was for Katie Belle’s safely. I knew it was going to protect her from abruptly running away and possibly getting hit by a car or in another life threatening situation. I lost a puppy a couple of years ago due to her escaping my control(or lack there of). I swore, never again! And now I have a 11month old puppy that sits and stays on my command. Even waiting for me across the street until I command her to cross. She can be running joyfully across a large field, but as soon as I command her to “come”, she runs full speed back to me and sits for that guaranteed love and praise. As a results, I’m a much better dog parent that only gets frustrated with my Katie Belle when she destroys yet another toy. (Smile) Yeah, I keep buying ‘em!

Extremely impressed!! First day of training- with our English Bulldog. No secret this breed is stubborn with a capital S. The trainer, Laird, is wonderful. She patiently walked us through each command, and Elvis( our bully) was receptive and compliant. We are over the moon happy and so anxious to learn more.

I cannot recommend Justin and Crystal enough! When I rescued a 30 lb 3 month old Great Pyrenees for my first time owning a dog solo, I didn’t realize what I was in for. If you know anything about Pyrs, you know it’s a miracle my dog listens to me at all and possesses any sense of urgency whatsoever. I attempted training him on my own for about a month before I reached my limit.
When I had my consultation with Justin, I finally saw the light at the end of the land shark puppy phase. Justin and Crystal helped Bug go from an unmotivated, reactive, fluffy escape artist with an attitude to an extremely well-behaved therapy dog with consistent recall, great manners, and top notch off leash obedience that will last the rest of his life. I can say with 100% confidence that working with Justin and Crystal has been the best choice I have made as a dog owner! If you are the kind of person that loves to get compliments from family, friends, and strangers about how well behaved and well trained your dog is, Justin and Crystal are the dog trainers for you!

My dog Keebo has been going through in house training for the past 5 weeks and it has been great. My friend also has her dogs Tucker and Sadie in training. I never thought it would be possible to have visitors walk through the door and it could be calm in the house. Prior to training our three 100 lb dogs would go crazy and bombard the visitor. It was very chaotic. Now we can place our dogs in their spot and they will stay there as the visitor enters the house. Quietly. It’s wonderful. They have also learned how to heal, sit, down ect. Our dogs all knew basic commands but the difference is now the commands mean sit and stay. Down and stay until you give the command to release them.
I even texted Justin one day and said how amazing it was that the HVAC guy could come into the house and our dogs didn’t go crazy. It’s one thing to go through training and feel like it’s working but when you can actually try it for the first time with a visitor it’s wonderful. We are so thankful to Justin and his team. They are patient and have a very calming demeanor. It’s been a great experience and we are looking forward to group sessions at the park soon. If you live in Lexington, Chapin or the Lake Murray area please give them a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Justin was an absolutely amazing dog trainer. He trained my dog Kaden. I had so many issues with Kaden. He peed in the house, lunged at other dogs, didn’t come when called, pulled on the leash, jumped all over guest in my house, and many more issues. Justin solved every single issue I had with Kaden. His training method was fair to my dog. You can tell when someone truly cares about your dog and Justin 100% did. I highly recommend him.

We were referred to Justin and his team by a close friend for our Poppy, who 100% lives up to her name. She is smart but we needed training on how to outsmart her and get her to listen. I just love this company - Justin, Crystal, Darlene and office staff! They are wonderful at what they do, are responsive and so thoughtful! I have used other dog trainers that come to my home and have not gotten the results I have gotten from Justin and Dog Training Elite. Justin is wonderful at what he does. My dog Dixie is a different dog after the training with Justin. He offers group classes on the weekends that solidify training, that I highly recommend. We also went to Lowes to work on training in new environments! I truly know that I can bring Dixie anywhere now!
Besides being a great trainer, Justin is just a wonderful person who loves what he does and loves animals. We highly recommend Dog Training Elite for dog training!

Honestly, I don't know where to begin. Day 1 was something like a consultation. My Jetti and I met Justin and Louie for the first time. I knew that day that Justin was the one to train my Jetti and me. We started back in February or March. Justin had a demeanor about himself that made it easy to talk to and listen to him. I am still in amazement of what Jetti and I have accomplished and learned in such a short period of time. Just recently my Jetti, my 2 other furbabies, and I went to petsmart. It was Jetti's first visit there. I was nervous about how it would go with Jetti, but she was the perfect furbaby. A number of people came up to me and shared how she was so well behaved. I felt like the perfect mom. All of this is a result of Justin's ability to train. Jetti now has a play date with a German Shepard during the week days. This is because of the Saturday training with other furbabies. Oh, did I forgot to mention, Jetti is now a 9 months Giant Schnauzer! I promise you, you cannot and will not go wrong with training your furbaby with Justin of Dog Elite Training. Justin is the GOAT!!!

Dog Training Elite has quite literally changed my life! Before working with Justin, my dog was a reactive basket case. Kids, dogs, squirrels, cats - you name it, she was chasing it. Justin gave me all the tools needed to be confident and fully in control, even when Raya is off leash. I get so many comments from family about the before and after difference. We can now have family gatherings without jumping, barking, begging, or reactivity to kids. In turn, Raya gets to live a full and happy life, and she is loving every bit of it! “Get a puppy” they said. “It’ll be fun” they said. While it is fun, it’s not all fun. The barking, the jumping, the chasing (him after everything…me after him), the nipping… was too much for me manage. Insert Justin and Dog Training Elite Midlands. Not only has Milo (the lab) learned boundaries, respect and how to follow commands consistently but he has also learned some really cool tricks and made friends along the way. Justin is timely, communicative and personable in a way that makes both you and your pup comfortable. Worth every single penny. Don’t know what we did before but sure don’t want to go back. 5 stars!!!

I have to admit I was very hesitant about committing to dog training due to time. However, Dog Training Elite made this the best experience! Justin has a true heart for animals and it shows! My 7 month old puppy is such a joy to be around and friends and family can’t believe how well behaved she is! I have never had a dog that would walk by me off leash and not run off. Best dog training around! I have worked with several dog trainers with a previous dog and our youngest pup, Bailey. Justin is by far the best! He truly cares about each dog's well being and will end training sessions early if the dog is becoming too tired or stressed. After your 6 in home sessions, you then have the option of attending group classes where you'll receive further instruction, a chance to socialize your pup and guidance to help your dog be the best he can be. My Bailey went from ignoring me in the yard and afraid of anyone at the door to coming when called and remaining in his place while people enter the house. Everyone is amazed at our well behaved pup. Highly recommend Justin and his team!

Justin, Jeff, and Darlene with Dog Training Elite are AWESOME!!! Our dog Saint, a 90 lb. German Shepard mix is so sweet, rambunctious, and also very strong. At times, he is determined to do his own things on our daily walks which included pulling and dragging his walkers to wherever he wanted to go. We became increasingly concerned about taking our gentle giant on walks in the neighborhood.
Justin is very knowledgeable and patient with both dog and owner (Saint loves to see him at the door!). Saint has learned the off, sit, place, and heel commands including heeling off leash - we have seen a significant improvement on our walks and general behavior around the house. They answered all of our questions and demonstrated the commands and "homework" as many times as needed to affect a positive outcome. We are pleased and grateful for their training and program. Thank you for all that you do!

I thought my 9 month old Great Dane Menkoi was a show stopper before…but with the training and service that Jeff, Justin and Darlene provide, he is turning heads and keeping their attention for all the right reasons. The best dog training service in Columbia! We have two dogs, one of which is extremely stubborn and we had run out of patience and options. We did not know what to do and had even tried some other dog trainers and programs around. We were so skeptical of this working but it was our last hope. We originally just signed up our one dog and now we have both of them in the training program. Just a couple weeks in we saw a tremendous difference. It is so nice to be able to give our dog praise instead of always being frustrated and getting after him. Not only is the program great but the customer services in incredible! Justin and his family are kind, understanding, patient and so helpful. We recommend Dog Training Elite to everyone with a dog. Our sweet Scar and Mufasa love their training sessions with Justin!

We have been Training with Justin for about 6 weeks now and Hazel has already learned so much. We have learned a lot too! Some of her behaviors we thought were untrainable have quickly changed. Hazel has always pulled on the leash and this is something we thought would never change. Hazel is now a pro at heel and our walks are so much more enjoyable. Justin and the other trainers are very professional and have been very patient and kind to Hazel. We strongly recommend Dog Training Elite if you have a difficult dog that you think cannot be trained.

Our dashound Pepper would always be jumping on people, barking at people walking by, pulling on the leash when walking her. After joining Dog Training Elite, Midland, Pepper is a different dog, with only 5 weeks of training so far. She kneels, comes when called, sits, stopped jumping and barking. I highly recommend Dog Training Elite, Midlands. Owner Jeff Collett has done a wonderful job training Pepper.

Where do I start?! Justin, Jeff, and Darlene are all amazing! The communication and service has been excellent.
Before deciding to trust DTE with training me and my pup, Justin and Jeff demoed their abilities to train , answered all of my questions, and offered training services without pressuring me.
Justin has worked with me and my pup teaching us thoroughly how to work with each other everyday and answering every single question that I have had. My pup went from little to no obedience to knowing how to come, hold a place on many different items and surfaces, sit, listening to the off command, quiet, down, and heel. I am so excited to see how well we do in group sessions! I am happy I decided to trust DTE!

Hi, I’m Jeff Collett. I have lived in SC for almost 20 years. I’ve spent the past 25 years in medical device sales. I have grown up with dogs and appreciate the value pets add to our lives. I recognize a great need for obedient dogs in the home as pets and as service animals throughout the community. My wife and I just added our sweet girl, “Millie” to our family. We’ve had so much fun playing with and training her.
When I’m not working as a professional dog trainer, I enjoy golfing, lake time and fellowship with family and friends.
I’m looking forward to helping enhance the relationship between you and your dog.

Hi, My name is Justin Collett. I grew up in Chapin, SC, and graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2018. I married my beautiful wife, Kiley, in 2020. I’ve grown up with dogs and my wife and I have enjoyed countless hours of fun with “Louie”, our long haired miniature dachshund. We recently added “Josie” our golden retriever pup to add to our joy.
My working background was on the water selling boats and then in the water selling water filtration systems. I now enjoy my exciting role as a business owner and professional dog trainer which speaks to both my passions for people and dogs. Whether you need a well-trained dog or a service animal for your family, investing in this special relationship will reap rewards for the life of your dog.
When I’m not working, I love golfing, playing on the lake, and spending time with family and friends. My pups and I can’t wait to meet you!

Hi, I’m Darlene. I’m a wife of 36 years to Jeff, mother of 2 sons, and lover of our sweet new golden, “Millie”. Most of my working career was in the insurance industry, followed by my role as a stay-at-home mom. I was blessed to be able to help care for both of my parents. I’ve always been devoted to my family and will bring this same level of care to the Midlands area dogs and their families. As you probably know, there is something special and expansive that happens in your heart when you share it with a furry family member.
When I’m not working, I enjoy reading, exercising, bike riding and hiking in the mountains.

Hi, I'm Crystal! I was born and raised in Northeast Ohio and recently moved to South Carolina after graduating from Kent State University in 2022. I am loving life in Columbia with my 2 pups, Nala and Raya. Nala is a rat terrier mix with lots of love to share, and Raya is a toy Australian shepherd who is full of energy and very eager to please.
Dogs have always been a special part of my life, and I'm so blessed to be able to connect my passion for people with my love for dogs as a professional dog trainer. Providing dog owners with the tools they need to maximize the life of their pups is such a fun and rewarding challenge!
When I'm not working, I enjoy reading, adventuring with my own dogs, and spending time with my family and friends.
