What to Know About Beagle Training in Annapolis
Beagles are small, active companions that are perfect for adults and kiddos. They have a beautiful short coat with combinations of brown, white, and orange. And we can't forget those floppy soft ears that are so fun to rub! Beagles are from the hound family and were bred for hunting with a keen sense of smell and intuition. Today, in many areas of the world, these dogs are still being used for hunting small game like rabbits and birds. These intelligent dogs can also make great family pets, but beagle training in Annapolis can take a lot of work. Because of their breeding history, they make for a unique breed of dog. Beagle Training with Dog Training Elite
Whether you have a brand new puppy or a sweet old dog, training is essential to having a happy and easy life with your pup! Dog Training Elite can meet your beagle training needs with our many training classes and programs. Though our method works on any dog, these classes are great for the unique needs that a beagle might have.
Because beagles are easily distracted, taking them through an obedience course will help them learn the importance of listening to and obeying commands.

Our Balanced Theory
We base our training around the "Classical Conditioning" model (a.k.a. "Pavlovian" or "respondent conditioning"). This includes developing conditioned or automatic reflexes to commands. In its simplest form (after proper conditioning), when the owner says "sit," the dog automatically sits without thinking about it. I contacted Dog Training Elite to help with training purposes as well as anxiety with my dog. I have a black lab who I started with them when she was about 10 months old. She struggled with anxiety ever since this past summer with fireworks, as before that she had no problem! Ever since working with Dog Training Elite, they have instilled many great training qualities in her, and us as owners that has really helped her confidence and anxiety in situations. When we notice something may scare her and she cowers back, we always resort back to the commands and she has no problem.
