When Can I Start Training My Puppy?
Dog Training Elite Puppy Training
As a first time dog owner, you may be wondering when is the best time to start training your new puppy. The sooner you start, the better. The first few months of a dog's life are critical to development so it's important to take advantage of this and train early. While more complicated commands can wait, all puppies should begin potty training and basic commands as soon as possible.
While all of this can be overwhelming, you don't have to do it on your own! Professional training assistance will make the first few weeks with your new pal a breeze. Dog Training Elite offers puppy training in your local area for dogs as young as 8 weeks. Sign your puppy up today and we will help transform him into a loyal, loving companion.

What Your Pup Will Learn in Our Puppy Training Program
We break our puppy training program into two phases so that we can nurture your dog from a young age to a smart, obedient adolescent. Phase 1 begins when your puppy is at least 8 weeks and is focused on treat training and basic commands. Tips for housebreaking and crate training will be a central part of Phase 1.
Once your puppy has reached 12 weeks of age he or she can begin to learn more complicated commands. Treats will be slowly phased out and the trainer will focus exclusively on positive reinforcement. An electronic collar will be introduced as a training tool used to get your puppy's attention when he or she becomes distracted. This is not a shock collar and does not harm your puppy.
Commands that your puppy will learn include: sit, come, stay, heel, place and more.
Our Balanced Theory
We base our training around the "Classical Conditioning" model (a.k.a. "Pavlovian" or "respondent conditioning"). This includes developing conditioned or automatic reflexes to commands. In its simplest form (after proper conditioning), when the owner says "sit," the dog automatically sits without thinking about it. Our unique techniques ensure our program is a success no matter what behavior we encounter.
Empowering OwnersWe empower owners to train so their dog knows who to obey at all times.
PersonalizedWe deal with problem behaviors on a personal basis.
Environment SpecificWe train wherever issues tend to arise (i.e. jogging, park, home).
SupportiveWe support owners in the off-hours (when training is "not in session").
InvolvedWe work with all members of the household.
Simplified & CustomizedWe plan training around the owner's schedule and require only 15 min/day follow-up practice.
Continued TrainingAdditional programs / group sessions offered after in-home training.
Lifetime InvestmentWe follow up & are invested in the owner's success long-term.
Satisfaction RatingsOur high client satisfaction rating sets us apart from competitors.

Take Part In Your Puppy's Learning
At Dog Training Elite, our goal is to include dog owners in the training process. Your puppy must recognize that you are the pack leader, not the professional trainer. That means that you will actively participate in training sessions and learn how to bond with your new puppy in a healthy way. As your puppy learns that following commands mean a deeper connection with you, he'll be excited to please you!
