Obedience is Best Taught Early beginning as young as 8 weeks old!
First time dog owners are often unsure of when to begin training their dog. For the best results, it is important to start training your puppy as soon as possible. You can begin socialization and basic commands as soon as you bring your new puppy home. Professional Puppy Training
Positive Reinforcement for Positive Pups
There is discrepancy in the dog training world on the best methods, but most research points to positive reinforcement as the best option. Punishments will only scare your dog and fear can lead to aggression problems. The puppy trainers in your local area of Dog Training Elite use a classical conditioning program that focuses on positive reinforcement of basic commands. Dogs learn through repetition and are always eager to please. When they learn that following a basic command results in affection or a treat, they will be happy to do as you ask. With patience and the assistance of a professional puppy trainer, you'll be rewarded with a lifelong loyal pal.
After your puppy has graduated from our puppy training program, we will make sure to follow up with you to see how he is doing. If your pup is still struggling with disobedience, we can offer you some advice on continued home training or schedule personal in-home sessions. Dog Training Elite's Positive Puppy Training Methods
Our trainers begin working with puppies as young as 8 weeks old, we will even help you select a puppy from a litter that possesses a desirable and teachable temperament. Treat training will be used until the puppy is 12-14 weeks old at which time advanced puppy training will begin.
We use a positive puppy training method paired with an electronic collar, this is not a shock collar. Unlike a shock collar, an electronic collar does not hurt or harm the pup and is used only to obtain their attention, not to punish bad behavior. We believe in using ongoing praise to encourage good behavior. The difference becomes clear when comparing a puppy that is trained out of fear and intimidation vs a puppy who truly desires to please from the inside out.
Our Balanced Theory
We base our training around the "Classical Conditioning" model (a.k.a. "Pavlovian" or "respondent conditioning"). This includes developing conditioned or automatic reflexes to commands. In its simplest form (after proper conditioning), when the owner says "sit," the dog automatically sits without thinking about it. Our unique techniques ensure our program is a success no matter what behavior we encounter.
Empowering OwnersWe empower owners to train so their dog knows who to obey at all times.
PersonalizedWe deal with problem behaviors on a personal basis.
Environment SpecificWe train wherever issues tend to arise (i.e. jogging, park, home).
SupportiveWe support owners in the off-hours (when training is "not in session").
InvolvedWe work with all members of the household.
Simplified & CustomizedWe plan training around the owner's schedule and require only 15 min/day follow-up practice.
Continued TrainingAdditional programs / group sessions offered after in-home training.
Lifetime InvestmentWe follow up & are invested in the owner's success long-term.
Satisfaction RatingsOur high client satisfaction rating sets us apart from competitors.

Wondering if we have puppy training services near you?
Getting a new puppy is exciting, especially for new puppy owners. The love and joy that a dog can bring as a companion or as part of a family is undeniable. The most common mistake new owners make, however, is to underestimate the knowledge, commitment, and effort needed to train a new puppy. Once a puppy begins to grow, their energy can quickly feel unmanageable. It is all too common that a well-meaning and loving family takes on a puppy, lacking the knowledge and skills to properly train. This often results in overwhelmed owners rehoming or taking these puppies to local shelters feeling that the disposition of the puppy is a bad one or simply that they are not cut out to be dog owners.
Our processes allow for us to easily complete our in-home puppy training services at your home or within the environment where behaviors manifest—such as in the park or around other dogs while you walk through the neighborhood!
