Basic Obedience Dog Training from Dog Training Elite any breed, any size, any age!
One of our most popular training services is to teach basic obedience. This includes both in-home training sessions and group classes for a more advanced approach.
Basic obedience covers commands such as:
- Lay down (next to you & at a distance)
- Place (go to bed)
- Sit (next to you & at a distance)
- Heel (walk with you, no more pulling)
- Off (furniture when desired)
For basic dog training, we use a positive basic obedience training methods based on the classical conditioning theory, paired with an electronic collar-- this is not a shock collar. Unlike a shock collar, an electronic collar does not hurt or harm the dog and is used to obtain a dog's attention. We believe in using ongoing praise to encourage good behavior. The difference becomes clear when comparing a dog that is trained out of fear and intimidation vs a dog who truly desires to please from the inside out.
Learn safe and easy to follow basic obedience training techniques... all in your OWN environment!
After trying in vain to train our Yellow Lab I called Dog Training Elite and Aiden came out and I kid you not within the first 10 minutes he was behaving and doing what was asked. It was like a Christmas miracle in November. Within 6 visits we had a new dog. Now with the training sessions at the park we are fine tuning our dog. Money well spent.Daniel Thomson
We love DTE! We have an Irish Wolfhound that is so shy and this has really given her confidence! We are just about to start park lessons and I think that will help socially! Well worth the money!Kristen Schow
Our Balanced Theory
We base our training around the "Classical Conditioning" model (aka "Pavlovian"or "respondent conditioning"). This includes developing conditioned or automatic reflexes to commands. In it's simplest form (after proper conditioning) -- when owner says 'sit', dog automatically sits without thinking about it. Our unique techniques ensure our program is a success no matter the behavior we encounter.
Empowering OwnersWe empower owners to train so dog knows who to obey at all times.
PersonalizedWe deal with problem behaviors on a personal basis.
Environment SpecificWe train wherever issues tend to arise (ie. jogging, park, home).
SupportiveWe support owners in the off-hours (when training is "not in session").
InvolvedWe work with all members of household.
Simplified & CustomizedWe plan training around owner's schedule and require only 15 min/day follow-up practice.
Continued TrainingAdditional programs / group sessions offered after in-home training.
Lifetime InvestmentWe follow-up & are invested in owner's success long-term.
